11:30 a.m. on a Tuesday and the parking lot (front & side, at least) are full but the overflow has space. All the look of a 50's style diner, right down to the music which was loud enough to hear but quiet enough to talk (i.e., perfect volume). OK, the ladies aren't wearing poodle skirts but they were a bit sexist. The server greeted me quickly but seemed a bit overwhelmed as she was the only one working the floor at the time. Understandable considering the number of diners to deal with at the time. She was pleasant despite the workload and checked in several times after my meal arrived. All the accouterments one expects at a diner right down to the creamer and jam. Menu is pretty broad, especially where sandwiches are concerned. Fish sandwiches, gyros, burgers, hot dogs (Coney, plain, etc.), melts. A fairly substantial breakfast section and salads & soups round it out well. I went with the Classic burger & fries. The burger is huge & the amount of fries is substantial. I ordered the burger medium but it came medium-well. It wasn't juicy like it should've been but was flavorful still. Next time I'll sit at the counter (missed that on the way in). There's a drive-thru in case you want to "grab and go", too. An FYI: if you pay by plastic, you will pay the credit card charge. I don't mind, but I was unaware. I'd...
Read moreHere now for for Sunday late breakfast. Arrived at 2:05 pm. My question to owner is why have a staff member approach the table and not greet us but tell us she is ready to go. They close at 3 pm so I do not understand the poor attitude. Food is always consistent breakfast anyways On top of it she said they threw out my receipt, never saw a bill. She then put up all the chairs as we and other guests were still eating, preceeded to sweep the floors as well in front of us, this was at 225 pm. We stayed for less than a half hour. Live in the neighborhood will not be back. We have had great service in the past - unfortunate. Owner needs to change the outdoor sign reading 3 pm and check his people. Empowering your employees is good to an...
Read moreBorn and raised on the East side of Detroit. Now that I live in another part of the Midwest, visiting Legends Grill makes coming home even better. I always order the same thing (Chili Cheese Fries) and my order is always correct. Customer service is always pleasant and my food is always hot and well prepared. No complaints for this location except for the fact I wish they stayed open a little later than 3:00 in the afternoon. Every true Detroiter knows that every Coney Island is not made equal. Therefore, if this location is not open.... I just will not have my Coney Island fix 😎. In addition, my partner enjoyed the Classic Burger with fries. My go-to restaurant in the...
