Leong's Chinese Carry Out — Restaurant in Detroit

I thought this was a different Chinese restaurant and after I realized I order from here instead of my usual spot, I thought I’d give it a try. Big mistake. Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life.

Order: Sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and spring roll Beef and broccoli with chicken fried rice and spring roll Crab Rangoon

Sweet and sour sauce, in a paper box that leaked everywhere, was... rancid? Did not taste right at all and very thick. The chicken for the order was a step below McDonald’s nuggets. Spongey, gross, weird breading and all around inedible. I firmly believe it was old chicken they reheated in the microwave after frying it in the early morning hours. The fried rice had shrimp in it. Which I hate shrimp nor was the word shrimp mentioned and luckily no one had a good allergy.

Beef was fatty and tough, also believed reheated in the microwave. Overall meal was bland, no flavor and gross to look at. The chicken fried rice was hideous. I posted a picture of it because I was shocked they literally used canned, diced, crumbled cube chicken.

Spring rolls were on point.

Not very good food. The lady that took my order wouldn't take my order on the phone because I was "intimidating". I sincerely doubt she understands the meaning of that word, as I calmly and patiently explained 3 times I wanted "2 small orders of shrimp with lobster sauce." She literally hung up and made me place my order at the store and wait for it to finish. The rice was grainy and stuck together, the shrimp was flavorless and undercooked, and the experience was a comeplete letdown. Go to PANDA on Gratiot instead, they're annoying to deal with too but they're very generous with portion sizes and are very reasonable. Ignore my warnings at your own...

Man I remember his being a good spot when I was a teenager, I happened to come across it on DoorDash last night and figured why not give it a chance even tho I haven't been in over 15 years. This had to be one of the worse chinese places I've ever ate, the pepper steak combo was bland and my girlfriend got the sweet & sour chicken which the sweet & sour sauce looked like a nuclear yellow color. the chicken was okay and the rice for both dishes was just white rice covered in their gravy. If I ever get some hood chinese food I'll take my chance at...
