Assumption Grotto Church — Attraction in Detroit

This is our home parish and we have found nothing like it in Michigan...and we've looked. If you are afraid to hear the TRUTH don't come here. The Way, the Truth, and the Life lives here. Some of the wonderful things at Grotto:

Beautiful Liturgies 2) Excellent Choir & Orchestra, 3) Truth taught from the pulpit 4) Oldest outdoor Shrine in Michigan dedicated to Our Lady 5) Ample guarded parking 6) Aug. 15th Feast day attended by thousands every year culminating with a beautiful outdoor Holy Mass at the Shrine 7) Every Sunday after noon Holy Mass; Eucharistic procession, Benediction & Rosary at OL Lourdes Shrine weather permitting 8) Corpus Christie processional to 4 altars ( nothing like it in metro-Detroit area ) 9) Friendly people & staff Only 4-Stars...too much emphasis placed on the Tridentine Holy Mass...No daily Novus Ordo Holy Mass...and esp. not in evening for us working folks.... you have short drive thru NE Detroit to get there...NOTE to reviewer Kevin Gordon...we're not rich and never felt anything you described in...

Assumption Grotto was my home parish but the distance created an impediment. For years i sought spiritual direction from Father Perrone. He has had the most significant impact on my development both spiritually and as a human being. The current allegations against him may have been fabricated because of his fearless exposure of scandal in both the Catholic church and the local Charismatic community. I have experienced several dioceses as corrupt, even making money off the charismatic chaos in Ann arbor . I believe that Father Perrone is a threat to the surrounding community. He expressed significant concern regarding the scandal that both myself and countless others have experienced at Christ the King parish in Ann arbor and the surrounding Ecumenical charismatic/Pentecostal communities that they are linked to. I have not personally known a finer...

Very holy, reverent, and traditional Catholic Church. You have to look far and wide to find a Church such as this. Only 3 out of the 15 weekly Masses are the "New Mass". That is what makes this Church what it is. After attending for 2 months, I am now a new member of this parish. I have found the people to be very friendly and helpful. I am new to the Latin Mass. It is obvious that the Latin Mass is very holy through its reverence. I, presently since it is new to me, may not know what they are saying or what they are doing, but I can tell you that I have never experienced God in such a way as I do at the Latin Mass. My life has totally changed, since attending this Church. I am extremely thankful that there is a Church...
