Motor City Java House is a true gem in Detroit! The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and filled with a sense of community. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. Their coffee is top-notch, with a rich, smooth flavor that stands out from other shops in the area. If you’re not in the mood for coffee, they also offer an impressive selection of smoothies, teas and pastries—everything is fresh and delicious. The chili is award-winning.

What sets this place apart is its connection to the community; it feels like more than just a coffee shop. It’s a space for creativity, conversation, and collaboration. Whether you’re looking for a cozy spot to work, meet with friends, or just relax, Motor City Java House has it all. Highly recommend stopping by — you won’t be...

I was delighted to find this active community space right next to the Redford Theatre. It’s filled with comfortable seating and a small stage area where I think people read or do intimate performances for small audiences. Behind the Java shop is a eclectically decorated open area where you can have your drink and snack outdoors. Further back is a room they rent out or host their own special activities like Art for children. I was impressed with the beautifully cafe, cozy seating and the helpful staff, especially the General Manager, Tynisha. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for cool upcoming events like the Black Tattoo Art & Music Expo. Motor City Java House supports its local community. Come support them! I think you’ll feel comfortable and be impressed....

After spending hours up the road at Beaumont, a fresh cup of coffee was in order. Wanted something different than SB or TH. Stopped in here, the name was interesting. Walked in to get the coffee, also bought a cheese Danish. Sat down and took in the beautiful art work. An older man teaching a younger lady guitar. A group of men talking around a table on a Saturday morning. A refreshing place where neighborhood connections seem to hold tight. And a good...

Our sorority recently hosted an event at Motor City Java House, which included a talk and tour with owner Alicia George. The coffee house, which has many spaces to host small and large scale events, is charming and inviting. Ms. Alicia and her team made us feel right at home. I enjoyed my coffee, well I had two, and took home a variety of baked goods. I highly recommend visiting. We loved it so much that we are booking another event!
