I was going to order carryout and I shared with cashier lady this was my first time in the establishment she suggested I dine to get the entire experience..I washed my hands found a seat waitress in passing says do you want anything besides water to drink I asked for sweet tea didn't have she started calling out drinks I got ginger ale not real was just sugar oh she put a roll and butter on the table then 1minute later almost exactly she brings a fish chip dinner small 1oz tartar sauce and I said that was quick I asked for more tartar sauce waitress tell me it's not free and have I already paid I say I was ordering to go and menu States it comes with large tartar sauce she said that's not for back here we back and forth I said I love tarter sauce that's why I picked it she then says I will bring you some for free this time. My point is I didn't receive the dine in experience I was never given a menu, given any of the waitress time except only in her passing by I had even raised my hand. I watched her bring other customers plenty of tartar sauce and lemon no problem an they were not weekly visters from their conversations just different skin tones. Roll horrible fries/chips burnt horrible coleslaw hideous food had no seasoning at all the cod was fried correct but I didn't even get to tell anyone how I liked my fish or my fries/chips cooked had to ask for lemon I...
Read moreBeen hearing about Scotty Simpsons for years went on Saturday with my husband and adult son. I'm giving them a three-star because of the portion size of my fish. Now it was quite yummy, I enjoyed the crispiness of it and the lightness of the batter. However my pieces were so incredibly small it was ridiculous. I didn't feel like complaining and did not feel like bringing it to their attention cuz I just really did not want to deal with any adversity on Saturday since it was my birthday and our server was aware of that along with it also our first time eating their food. My one piece had 3 itty bitty little 1/2 size bites of fish not even a full bite all pushed into one square patty and there was actually more breading on that fish piece then fish. Each one of my pieces of fish were smaller then 3" X 3" pieces so as far as portion size goes completely unacceptable (yes I measured with my index finger) my husband's fish pieces were a bit larger, and our son ordered the combo plate with the shrimp and fish and his fish were larger pieces yet. So really disappointed in my fish size pieces. :( btw, our son has been going there for years. With it being my birthday, he wanted us to try something different. Wish we would of stuck to Sean O'Callaghan's in downtown Plymouth by far S.O.C. outranks Scotty Simpsons for sure when it comes to...
Read moreVisited this establishment on a Friday for takeout and it was extremely busy. It is cramped. While waiting patrons stand very close to people who are eating in. While waiting I noticed none of the people who were cooking had masks on and they were picking up cooked food with their hands. I saw them put their bare hands on several plates and pick up food more than a couple of times with bare hands. I ordered the fish and chips. Which was $12.50 It came with three pieces of fish and a handful of fries. The roll, coleslaw and tartar sauce is optional for takeout. The fish and chips was really good and the coleslaw was fresh. The fish and chips is good but over priced. Not enough food for almost $13 Based on the way I saw the cooks handling the food I will likely not return. They should handle the food in a more sanitary way. It's obvious none of the employees went to a Food Handlers Class and it's unfortunate because the food is good. The concern for the customers health should be a priority and the food should be handled safely so that no one gets sick. Although the food was good I will not patronize this business based on the way they handle the food. Gloves and hand washing should be a priority in...
