Each time there customer service is nasty, I won't be going back there anymore ill go over to telways on Michigan Ave. Way better customer service - I gave sonny's hamburgers 3 attempts to see if I'd get treated better but nope same old attitudes, there jus not very welcoming & seem so angry & uptight, so like I said 3 attempts I tried to do my part to contribute to this black owned establishment cause it right on my route where I deliver to DMS--Detroit Manufacturing Systems, I'm a Semi-truck driver, and I'll never go back here again to spend a Dime In this place there plenty of grease burger places like this Motz, Telways 2 of them 9mile in Ferndale & 1 on Michigan also 1 on Fort st & Green in Southwest detroit, I've been to these on a regular as well and I have to say I'm not looking for smiling faces all the time but at least be respectful - not any of my visits/purchases at Sonny's Hamburgers did they bother to say thank you have a good day, each 3 times I went!! Jus called my name threw the bag on the counter rolled her eyes at me & that was it, im not even the type that writes reviews but in this case I had to,because it's about respect & I'm not the only person who notices I'm surprised when I walked out another guy totally unaware of my experiences here jus started talking to me about there tight up indecent strange unwelcoming behavior and I told him yeah I noticed that my first time here but I like their burgers but today was my last day giving up anymore of my money to Sonny's Hamburger. PERIOD!!!! DON'T GO BY WHAT IM SAYING CHECK IT OUT FOR YOUSELF, BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY THE...

I’m not usually one to complain about a customer service experience but this one really hit a nerve for me. For as long as I could remember, I’ve been a VERY picky eater. My fiancé introduced me to this place to try hamburgers for the first time ever 3 years ago and I LOVED it!! Still do... but today. I called in a order. Came to the resturant, indeed my order was ready, for a change, I was able to call in ahead, but I figure they are a very popular busy hamburger place. As I approach the door, it’s locked. So I went to the other door I seen opened as I was pulling into the facility. As I’m walking in... I hear the “ cook” and I’m assuming another customer rudely discussing why I didn’t see the far door on the left open to come in and I choose the other door. The tone was speaking as if I was “ illiterate”. I was very upset, I addressed the situation and both people was silent. Not one apology for being obnoxious at all. This is the type of experiences that will bring a bad reputation to a good establishment. Neither person knew me, I could of been an reporter, LAWYER, whomever.... and reported this behavior. I will never go back due to this. Not the mention this isn’t the 1st time I’ve noticed very unprofessional conduct at this facility. The owner of this establishment really need to evaluate his/her employees, they are making you look really bad. And I’m sure you don’t want to shut down because you opened your heart and hired these unprofessional...

Best burgers in town. It's one of those classic old fashioned white shack-like burger joints with the griddle. While they're known for their sliders (like many of these type of places), my favorite are the big burgers. The large double, at $3.70, will fill you up and can't be beat. You can get like 4 sliders or so if that's your thing and it'll be great too, but I don't love the huge dose of bun that that entails, and I'm telling you the double will fix the big boy appetite, and at under $4 out the door the fact that it's the best value in town comes 2nd to the flavor. (DON'T tell them, but I'd pay like twice that much). For kids/those without a large appetite, the regular large burger at $2.45 is sufficient. You aren't gonna find any brioche here, just simple smaller white buns (they actually use the same size for the sliders and big burgers; the meat dwarfs bun on large ones but that is ok). The drawbacks: They aren't open late (usually close at 8), they are so popular that it's not uncommon for orders to be backed up by 30 minutes, so if you don't like waiting call ahead. And, they only have American cheese, which is the norm and most people don't mind (I skip it and throw on real...

The cornerstone of a great Detroit burger is essential when your crafts have been featured on your local news station. Channel 4 Detroit calls Sonny's the "best." The aged interior pays tribute like many other diners in the state but no one does it the same. "I've eaten at Bates and Greene's in Farmington. It was only at a glance that they cater to the same type of dining experience but these are pure imitation s of what Sonny's delivers. I recommend the Double Burger, no pickle, no cheese, no mustard, extra onion, extra ketchup and add bacon!" -Dreadsperado, Sangria Times Publication

If you are from Detroit, then sliders are one of the four major food groups. Look no further than Sonny’s slider for a true and authentic slider from the D. We stalk their food truck from festival to festival in the Summer and the Christmas Tree lighting in the Winter. You know they are the truck to beat when you are in a line of 25+ waiting on their delicious burgers. But don’t worry, the wait is worth it and it normally flies by as they are a well oiled machine when it comes to their service. We love Sonny’s. Keep a look out for them. They are WORTH IT!

Love the cash only, we’ve done burgers for 50 years greasy burger joints. Check out the pics. This place is all about the burger. This their story from their website “Sonny’s Hamburgers is best known for their “old-fashioned” slider burgers. A fresh quality, hand packed, made-to-order burger with grilled onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard. A simple classic burger that is seasoned and cooked with love. A burger from Sonny’s is like, “Love at First Bite”, with a taste and distinct flavor that will make you want to come back.”
