Super Coney Island — Restaurant in Detroit

I live a half of block away from this establishment. I mostly come here late at large or early am (1am to 4am). Today I came around 5pm. I have only been here about a dozen times. I usually will travel to a coney in highland park called parkside. Now think about that. This coney is close, walking distance, and I have lived in the neighborhood almost four years. Why wouldn’t I visit this coney more you asked? Today is a great example, ordered three deluxes, two cheeseburger and one chicken club. Missing fries in one and.other fries undercooked and greasy. Club sandwich bacon was burnt black! And beyond dry!! Also had a western omelette with grilled mushrooms added and side order of sausage patties. Omelette hash browns were burnt and patties over cooked and rubbery. Now they did remake the sandwich and breakfast foods. Sooooooo I guess the cook got mad because I had the audacity to ask for my food to be done and this time the omelette had, count em, four little pieces of ham meat (usually it’s dozens) and the vegetables were not grilled!!! My friends please please please double check your food if you buy from them!!! A better choice is to stay away unless it’s the morning shift!!!!!!!!!! You...

Listen… if you haven’t hit up Super Coney Island in the morning — you’re seriously missing out.

The food? Absolute fire. Go during the week, in the AM. That’s when the real magic happens.

The lady in the morning? So sweet, so accommodating — she makes you feel right at home. 💕

The mature kitchen crew? Chefs. They don’t play — food always comes out perfect.

Let’s talk breakfast though:

Ham = Savory, salty, and packed with flavor.

Grits = Creamy and smooth — not watery, not bland.

French toast = The star of the show. Sweet, tender, perfectly cooked. Might actually be the best in the city.

If you're thinking of going, go in the morning. That’s when Super Coney really lives up...

Save your stomach the discomfort. Ordered 5 chillicheese fries. 4 was made with old dry fries. Had to go back out my home to get a new set of 5 fries. Guess what? They were worse then the second time around. Of course I called and complained and um rep denied the fact. The fries stuck to my teeth My conclusion is either they need a new fry company to supply from orrrr they pre frying the food and mixing old and new fries so they can handle rush hour. I will be taking these old fries back in the morning. I think she thought that if she over loaded the fries with chili that the fries would absorb the moisture.....chilli.and cheese was hot but fries...
