Universal Coney Island — Restaurant in Detroit

Terrible Terrible place! Service was the rudest and the most unprofessional I have ever encountered! Then young girl on the window was so busy doing everything else but taking my order she got half of it wrong: I originally called my order in so I can pick it up. I went to offer here the drink that I would like she told me don’t tell her rn she’s just gonna forget, I thought that was odd do to , she’s putting it it the computer for the ticket, but thought nothing of it . When getting there I observed that it was no line and only one person in side as a customer, that same girl who answered the phone was at the window I informed her the name on the order, this young lady continued to read my order, yet it was someone else’s. Told her no that’s not it she read another wrong then read mine (2) meals completely mixed up! I said what’s going on??? She ignores forgets to ask drinks . Comes back and either food then I remind her about the drinks that she didn’t care to check. Checked my order and theirs no condiments that I specifically asked for over the phone and she tries to argue with me and says well it’s right her and says “Do we have a problem if not giving you shit” throws it on the floor and the older steps in at her defense saying you have ask better and be careful who you talk to when ppl preparing your food” and says the ranch will be $1?? She tried to sell me a ranch that comes with the actual chicken pita deluxe meal!!! I want my money back. I have never had to argue about getting a order correct in my life and had to tip toe around someone’s attitude at their job that they applied to be. I was confused was I the one paying or……. That was so rude, unprofessional and ghetto!! YES, ghetto!!! Something...

Coney Islands in Detroit are a staple of the city. You don't have to go far to run across one when you're in the mood for a artery clogging meal. Universal Coney Island is one of my favorites when I'm in the area and want a Coney dog.

Reuben Sandwich or 2-3 Coney dogs is what I grab here. I have no complaints, the dogs are hot and fresh, have the meaty taste and casing snap with every bite. The Reuben sandwich is a decent size and always hot. This place stands out for their quality. You can tell they put effort in serving fresh and quality ingredients. That says a lot for a Coney island in the city.

Service is fast, friendly. The only thing I don't care for is the fountain beverages and usually pick up at gas station near by. I'll give other options a try very soon, buts it hard when the Coney dog...

One night i stopped here and bought a fish sandwich and it was delicious! Tartar, cheese and freshness! The service was easy and polite. I couldnt wait to order my next fish sandwich. Well....here we go again....Don't waste you're time. Just because they're in the hood they feel like you have to accept mediocre services and sub zero standard food. Im not a dog and you're not going to throw me a bone. Who eats burnt buns? And the presentation was horrible my sandwich looked like garbage.
