Las Palmas is located in the heart of Devine, Texas. They are a basic Mexican restaurant that has good food and fast, friendly service with very reasonable prices. You can dine in or take out. They have no drive-thru window but they do have a wheelchair accessible entry.
I ate lunch there yesterday and tried the Jalisco Burrito with carne guisada. The portion size was plenty for two meals and the burrito was delicious. The base cost was $8.99. I ordered charro beans and rice on the side which added $2.00 to the bill. The rice and beans were great also, and I usually find that Spanish rice is dry but not at Las Palmas. The rice was moist and especially good. My only complaint would be that they charge $2.99 for a large tea. That's too high for tea, but their tea was good and my waitress brought it in a to-go cup which I appreciated because I always take my drink to-go anyway, so why waste having to wash a plastic drink cup. It was economical and clean so I appreciated that very much.
My total bill came to $15.40 with the tax and they gave me a to-go box for the half of my meal that I couldn't eat at the table. For the price I paid, I will get two full meals from this one lunch, which makes a stop at Las Palmas very worth while. Fresh, hot, delicious with very generous portions of everything! What's not to love? Thank you, Las...
Read moreWe ordered the Mexican plate along with a green enchiladas plate . The crispy taco was on top of the enchiladas. This made the shell soft and hard to eat . The enchiladas were a heartstopper . This was the first meal we've gotten taken out in a while . This was very disappointing since in the past their food was decent . There wasn't any pride in this food . My husband called and asked to talk to the manager , there wasn't any manager in charge. Are you supposed to look at all to go meals before you leave . The taco should've been wrapped in foil as were the tortillas . It wasn't crispy. It fell apart . Restaurants want support but how can you support a restaurant that doesn't care about the customer . I guess we won't eat...
Read moreMy recommendation, keep driving. I ordered the barbacoa plate and it was not “all meat” so the quality was mediocre at best. The flour tortillas were the thickest I’ve EVER eaten, seemed reheated, and the refried beans were runny. The coffee had a nasty flavor, so had it replaced with sweet tea, which was good. I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the portion of barbacoa for the price! I asked for a small smidge more and they said, “Unfortunately we cannot give you more without charging you for it”. I was not asking for a double serving but it would have been nice if the manager cared more about its customers but CLEARLY not. Also, the service was sub-par. We were not “checked on” and were not brought salsa. I will not...
