No restaurant is 5 stars. However, as an avid traveler, foodie, and amateur chef, I would say this place is decently better than a 4.2 rating. I’d say 4.6+. Therefore, I’m rating it a 5 to bring the average up. I’m picky. This is a family run, Mom and Pop, old school Chinese restaurant despite the usual name. Their son said it was a literal translation of an eatery, or something. Great flavor, quality, and cuts of meat. They do a healthy takeout business, but no one seems to dine in. Accurate. Prompt. However, their dining room is immaculate! I love eating there. Always wide open. Tasteful and comfortable! Terrible. Been a customer for many years. Moved and still stop whenever in the area. They have increased prices beyond reason (they were always high), reduced container sizes (significantly) and now quality and quality of protein. Two carryout entries and a couple egg rolls for $50 demands top quality and serving size for leftovers. 6 mealy low grade shrimp in a stir fry with 80% broccoli (small yellowed florets with ALL the stem). Actually counted 5 small pieces of red pepper, all like mush. Also rationing sesame seeds on the sesame chicken. The texture of the chicken suggests an old emaciated bird, even when somewhat undercooked. Hoping someone sees an opportunity to compete, easy money to be made in this market. Waitress was on her phone the whole time. Didn't bring us straws with our drinks..no big deal with that except my son needed one due to just having dental work done and mouth was numb. Soup was good. Waitress didn't bring the fried crispy things that you usually get with the soups. General chicken was horrible.. almond chicken was burnt on the outside but rubbery on the inside. Rice had an awful taste to it. Like it was cooked in some kind of peanut oil or something. Crab ragoon was ok. Sweet and sour sauce was horrible. Definitely won't be coming back to this place.
