UPDATE I've been patient and have waited for the owner to reach out to me, but she didn't care enough to since she already spoke with someone else and decided to group our experience together instead of treating us as individuals. Her mannerism and threatening tone to insinuate my kids did something wrong is out of line. As I stated in my review, my kids are great kids, and I am confident when I say they were not bad nor did they push a stool down like the owner tried to show on the Facebook review. The way she replied to my original review is not very Christian-like (her entire café is supposed to be centered around Christ) but felt defensive and threatening. I appreciate her apology on my Facebook review and her acknowledgement that I am someone else and not the person who she had spoken with and confused me with. I also waited for her to edit her misleading response since her acknowledgement that I am a different person than she spoke with, but she never did which isn't fair to me nor the people reading reviews.
It's a shame to be writing this review -- I'm not one to normally write one much less a bad one -- but this experience was both disrespectful and disappointing. The reason for my visit was mainly for their advertised family friendly environment, not so much their coffee quality. There is a specific play area dedicated for children of various ages (infants- school aged children) with a coloring table, play kitchen, grill with play food and other things. During my visit, the AC was broken and there was a leak from the roof. Although it was pretty warm inside, my children were excited to get waffles and play. While they were in the play area, one of the workers came up to me and told me to keep my children quiet because the other workers needed to study for a test they have tomorrow. We were the only ones there alongside a friend and the workers and no child was screaming, crying nor yelling while in the play area when we were asked to keep them quiet. They were playing restaurant with the toys provided. While there, they missed two items from two separate orders they needed to be reminded of because as they said, they had a big test to study for. When asked to speak with the manager, the girls got sassy. If there was a big test that they needed to study for where it affected the service quality and ability to have a coffee, waffles and socialize, the owner should've closed down the shop, especially with no AC inside or schedule someone who would be there to do the job and not ask their paying customers to service them while on the clock. My kids are great kids and are pretty well behaved when we go out. If they were doing something inappropriate or breaking anything I can understand asking me to control them but their behavior did not include anything that needed that kind of intervention. To be shamed for being a mother while out with their kids for a treat when they weren't doing anything wrong was disrespectful and outrageous. If you have young kids with the intention of going for a treat, find another...
Read moreI welcome places like this in Dickinson but this one needs a lot of tweeking. The staff was friendly in helping us out since it was our first time. They have a big selection of drinks and types of waffles to choose from. The order took a little while since some thing were made fresh... My hot chocolate was chocolate flavored truck stop water. My daughter order a cookies and cream waffle... 10 minutes later they came to the table to say someone made the batter wrong last night and she'd have to choose another, understandable. 5 minutes after that they're explaining to my wife that they misplaced the strawberry sauce and can't make her strawberry waffle... My daughter's hand squeezed lemonade was just water with a dash of lemon... The "Waffle" just isn't for me, I'm sure some people would love it but it's a pancake on a stick ... The decor/ furniture there is very nice but the dark paint on the walls and the temperature being 10 degrees colder than outside winter makes it uninviting. They have a good layout, games for the family to play and playsets for children. Bottom line is I really want this place to work. things need to be tweeked, baristas need to be trained, and do something about that...

Steam Kaffe is now Ugly Mugz (the same shop from Webster) they now have a different menu- drinks and waffles! Waffles are delish- so many flavors to choose from. They also have family karaoke on Saturdays and worship days. I recommend following them on FB for the scheduled times. Met the Ugly Mugz owner today and she was super sweet.
Update 9/29/23- We are currently hooked with their Coldbrew and the Pinkerton drink! The baristas from last weekend and tonight were super friendly and crafted our drinks perfectly! The apple turnover that I tried was delish. Love, love this coffee shop ❤️ ———————————- A newly opened coffee shop on FM 517 in Dickinson next to La Tulteca and has plenty of space with no frills coffee and tea. Great friendly service and clean establishment. Had an iced espresso and cold brew with cream although they gave us whipped cream on the cold brew instead of creamer but it’s ok lol 😅 Baked goodies looked delicious so will definitely try that next time. Our first time here and definitely...
