Surry Diner — Restaurant in Dobson

We lucked out in eating here on our way to Florida!! We were staying at the Hampton In. Across the road and the restaurant we were going to eat at was unexpectedly closed for a day or two so we went to the Surry Diner since it was so close and we had had a long day of driving. The ladies in the kitchen were so pleasant! My wife and I ordered the prime rib special ( on the Friday) and it was without a doubt the absolute best prime rib I have ever had!! The server was so nice and friendly. I just love going to family owned and operated diners like the Surry Diner. It felt like I was at home with my mom and dad having a great home...

I’ve ate here several times, but today will be my last time of eating here, The mozzarella sticks was so overdone that they were gritty and brown, and the burger that I ordered had wilted, lettuce, and soft tomato on it, when I went back to have it correct the lady at the counter got a attitude and told me she would refund my mozzarella sticks but not for anything else, that no one else complained, I’m not everyone else I’m a single person. Long story short I got a burger remade but still had to pay $26 for food that wasn’t even right....

We have been loyal customers for years because the food is good, the waitresses are nice, but we have had the worst service ever by this one waitress twice now. Today, she acted like we were bothering her. She didn't give my husband silverware and laughed when he got up to get it himself. She only came to refill his drink after that. then apparently took a picture of us when we left. I don't know what her problem is, but she could certainly use some customer service training.
