The worst part of my trip! I was hoping for a better experience considering the fact that it's named Miss Kitty's to add to the Gun Smoke theme. We'd been driving all night. Visiting from Texas. Our hotel check in time was 3p. We were trying to wait it out by grabbing a bite to eat. What better place to go-Miss Kitty's place. Wrong! 😞 Miss Kitty would be disappointed ☹️. We felt rushed and unwelcomed!
The server was very rude. My husband is Navajo but when people see him, they assume he is Mexican. We asked what drinks they served. It was our first time there. We just sat down and did not take a peek at the menu yet. She starts speaking in Spanish. My husband explains he doesn't speak Spanish. She argued back saying, well I don't speak English (in English!). 😱That went on a few rounds. We asked for someone who spoke English. She came over, explained the menu, and showed us the drink menu. We ordered coffee and sweet tea. She then states, they close at 3p. It was 2:40p. We ordered Chips and Salsa to go. Puzzled, they asked why. You just told us you close in 20 minutes! We also asked for a sweet tea to go.
They brought back the tea with our check. No total. I was so confused. It read: chips and salsa 5.99 tea 2.25 coffee 2.10 Chips and salsa are complimentary only when you dine in.
We waited for the server to pick up the money. The server who brought the tea to go said you pay at the counter. The lady at the register was already counting down the draw. I put $15 on the counter and left....confused! Did I over pay? Was the bill only $5.99? Was the bill itemized? Maybe they total it at the counter? I didn't dare ask....they don't speak English! Clearly they were ready to go!
Once we got to the hotel, the tea was unsweet! How could they mess...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Miss Kitty's Cafe, and it truly exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that made me feel like I was at home. The charming, rustic décor with its western touches perfectly captures the spirit of the area, creating a cozy, down-to-earth vibe.
The food at Miss Kitty's Cafe is absolutely incredible. I started with the homemade potato soup, which was creamy and comforting, packed with flavor, and served with fresh, warm bread on the side. For the main course, I opted for the chicken-fried steak, and it was everything I had hoped for—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and smothered in a savory gravy that paired perfectly with the mashed potatoes. Each bite was heavenly!
The service was exceptional. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and really made us feel like valued guests. She took the time to explain the specials and made excellent recommendations. The entire staff had a genuine passion for what they do, which made the experience all the more enjoyable.
Miss Kitty's Cafe offers great food at reasonable prices, and the portion sizes are generous. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is definitely worth a visit. I can’t wait to return for another...
Read moreHad lunch here on Sunday. Arrived at noon. Place full. Waited 30 minutes to be seated. 15 minutes before a server even approached our table. Took another 30 minutes to get our food, which by that time the crowds had thinned down to half. They have a service problem. They brought my wife's meal first (steak with 3 cheese enchiladas and refried beans). My 3 enchilada dinner didn't come out until 10 minutes later. Her "excuse for a steak" was a measly 1/4" thick cut of what was probably rump roast. It was caramelized on the outside from being way overcooked on the flat top. It was as tough as beef jerky and difficult to cut through with a steak knife. The enchiladas were nothing but average. I always order enchiladas at Mexican restaurants because they are the best way to judge a Mexican restaurants quality and authenticity of flavor. I had the 3 enchilada combo with ground beef, shredded chicken and the cheese. Although not terrible, certainly not what I would call above average. So, stay away from the Mexican food and stick with breakfast items, which can't get screwed up. This place is WAY OVERHYPED. And absolutely don't order anything...
