Ordered Banana milk from them and thought it was fantastic. Had it delivered to my house, but it sat outside for over an hour because I was at work. "No problem", I thought, "I'll just have them deliver to my work, someone's always there to accept the delivery."
Well I placed my order, and frustratingly, it never came, despite the delivery guy(?) that spoke to me on the phone telling me that they could get it out the next day. I called shaw farm and left a frustrated but generally polite message, explaining that I ordered the milk 3 days ago, and it has yet to show up. The next day I received an email that my order had been cancelled per my request (which I did not request).
This was very frustrating. But I enjoyed the milk so I resubmitted my order and gave them another chance to continue to earn my business. Roughly $30 in milk I ordered to be delivered to my work (I had co-workers that wanted to try it), again, will not be coming.
I received an email from Lyndie Shaw simply saying to only order when having it delivered to my home, and that they would not be delivering to my work.
I've never had an issue with anything else being delivered to my work before. I've ordered off of Amazon, eBay, and several other online retailers, and not once had they refused to deliver to my work based in the fact that it was a McDonald's of which I'm a manager and authorized to send deliveries to.
Extremely disappointed in Shaw Farm. They did not reach out to me to try to make the deliveries work for me. I lack the transportation to get to their store, and I do too much shift work to know when I will be home for a delivery. Me and my boss and co-workers had planned on making this order a twice-per-month thing.
They were not flexible enough to meet my needs and made no effort to reach out to me to improve my experience As a result they have lost my business.
I work with customers every day. I don't think I made an unreasonable request. I just think they should have made an attempt to improve...
Read moreShaw farm has come a long way from what it used to be. Many years ago I would come here to the old shop and grab a few quarts of non-homogonized milk and some ice cream. Now they are a full fledged country store and ice cream stand. They still have some of the freshest milk around, their milking barn is right across the street (right behind the old shop, their slogan was if you don't believe it's fresh ask to see the cows). They have an ice cream stand outside, and a window inside with a few tables inside too for extra hot days. Walking up you would think it's just any old I've cream shop but the difference is their ice cream is made with milk from their cows. They have a very large selection of ice cream too. Inside the country shop you can buy their milk in the standard varieties (skim, whole, 2%) and even non-homogenized so the cream rises to the top. They also have chocolate, strawberry and banana. They sell their ice cream in prepacked quarts and half gallons in a wide variety of flavors, including frozen yogurts. There is a large selection of local goodies inside too from produce, to snacks, frozen pizza, chicken pies and many other goodies. Well worth the trip, and they are conveniently located in Dracut, so not far off in the boonies where you might expect a dairy farm to be. This is a local family owned business (the owners live right next to the milking barn) employing local people too, so you can feel good knowing when you do here you are helping sorry...
Read moreLocal dairy farm with good milk and ice cream.
Stopped here on my way back from NH. It’s a bit of a detour from I-93, but after being sold on a banana milk latte at a nearby café that used their milk, I had to check it out.
The farm store itself was what I expected—house-produced dairy, ice cream, plus frozen meats from other local farms. Prices leaned a bit high, so I stuck with milk, ice cream, and a bag of maple popcorn (sourced from another NH farm).
Their ice cream pints show up in grocery stores, but I wanted the cash-only stand experience. No lines when I went (unlike the bigger names in Northshore), and the flavor list wasn’t huge, but everything I tried was really good. They don’t push experimental flavors, but the cherry vanilla (whatever its exact name) was some of the best ice cream I’ve had recently. Smooth, creamy, and rich without the heaviness.
Not the flashiest dairy farm around, but worth the stop if you’re nearby and want quality milk or a...
