Loved it the first time, returned and was surprised in a not so good way. Didn't seem to comply with some basic cleanliness rules.. The guy making the coffee kept checking his phone and then also served our coffee without the lids - lids were just tossed on the counter top.. How weird. Maybe it's because we didn't tip him the first time, but I kind of didn't know it was the requirement? Sorry, nobody throws the lids on the counter tops in other places, kinda gross really especially during COVID when most places are being extra careful. What a way to ruin a great coffee experience from the day earlier!
Thanks for explaining your point of view - makes sense about the art on the coffee.. I just didn't see you wipe down the counter so it sent the wrong message, everyone is more cautious during COVID now. Thanks for offering to make it right. The coffee here is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen to Amity Coffee a few times now. Music is kind of loud but it is at least less common music played off their album collection. My biggest complaint is that I ordered a latte extra hot, and the barista even made a point to mark extra hot on the cup, but when I got it it was lukewarm; so I paid $6 plus a tip for a lukewarm cup of bean juice with milk only to leave 5 minutes later which is all lit took to drink a lukewarm latte; it at least taught me that I am done leaving a tip in advance which seems to be the expected norm these days. I live near Amity Coffee so I was hoping it would be more convenient than Dunn Bros which I love but that is a couple more miles away. But I will drive the extra distance to Dunn Bros because an extra hot latte there lasts me 30-40 minutes because it is actually extra hot and you get more latte for your money compared to...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePerfect local coffee shop. My visits are always met with mellow vib that we in Duluth love. (Note to fellow walkers: this is on Lake Walk near 44th, by the well stocked Lakeside hardware store, and a friendly post office location).
Took my non-coffee drinking son to his first coffee shop experience, and knew Amity was the place to be: great beverages (including chai). Staff are casual and espresso Americano are perfect here.
We all know coffee shops were also the most essential workers, and at Amity staff have always been gracious, relaxed and decent about keeping the place tidy. They offer locally roasted coffees, gifts and tasty baked goods. Oh, and really nice the chocolate options!!
Son the gear head, was able to really relax and liked the pit stop. ...
