Never been there before but on way home from Duluth the guys installing new patio door asked for Hugo's. Nice little place with tables and some games to play while you wait. And it was worth the wait!!! The subs are ginormous, I think it's a whole loaf of bread. A meal for a few days and beyond delicious! One guy didn't get to eat his meatball sub for 3 hours and the foil wrap it came in kept in warm that entire time. A must stop!!

Food is by far a 10. The bathrooms on the other hand reminded me of a truck stop bathroom in Bradshaw, West virginia. Which incase you don't know is not good. There was patched up holes in the door and walls. Scratch marks everywhere and I'm not positive the door even locked. Delivery will be my go to from now on. Which is super cheap by the way.

We eat from Hugos quite often because we live down the road. Last night was the first night we tried their pizza. My husband, son and I tried the Taco Pizza and the Deluxe/Specialty. The taco pizza was hands down my favorite pizza I've ever had!! We couldn't wait to try the pizza before I took a picture haha.

The delivery and customer service hold Hugo's back. On multiple occasions, I've enjoyed cold food from Hugo's, but this last time will be just that. The last.

E.g., the man taking my order states, "around 45 minutes." Nearly 90 minutes pass, so I decide to call for an update. This felt reasonable, benefit of the doubt and all that. I'm treated to bad attitude on the phone, as the rude girl sighs audibly on the phone, interrupts me mid sentence, and says, "Hes probably almost there." Glutton for punishment that I am, I decide to disengage, stating, "That's weird, I was told 45 minutes an hour and a half ago. You guys must be having a busy night! Thanks for..."

"Yeah." click the line goes dead.

That poor excuse for customer service was colder than the tepid, room temperature meal I received 55 minutes later than the estimated time.

TL;DR: There are better options with friendlier people, competitive pricing, and appropriately warm food. With a delivery time of pushing 2 hours, being local is no...

Neat little place! The first time I had a pizza here was technically when the Far West Fest was in Gary-New Duluth, and they sold them by the slice. I had 1, and I loved it. Later that day when the band, Aftershock, was on a little break from their concert, I went back to Hugo's for one more slice, and those guys were happy about it. "You must love our pizza that much, huh?!" one of those guys asked, and the other guy next to him gave me 2 when I only paid for 1. Awesome food, awesome staff, the price felt appropriate for what they served when I finally sat down here one day, AND THEY DELIVER. (Oh, and they deliver to Oliver, Wisconsin if you live over there. Smart.) I have another new favorite pizza joint of the Twin Ports. It’s rather quiet, though. They don’t play background music, but people only come here just for the food anyways. It’s still just a neat...

I use to love this place. A local go to favorite. Unfortunately after today I don't think I will order again 😣. We found several pieces of human hair in our food. When I let them know about this I was informed that we would have to return the food to get replacement items. The thought of more food with the hair off a stranger buried in it turned my stomach. As I was told this I gave the uneaten food to my dog and told them the dog ate it. All I heard was excuses about how it couldn't have come from them. They made no effort at customer service and kept telling me to talk then talking over me. We had been loyal customers for almost 20 years. This was the first time we ever had an issue. And it was also the last time we will ever eat or recommend...
