This was our first time here and we probably won't come back. We walk in and everyone sitting stared at us. Apparently it's a "seat yourself" establishment which is not noted that I could see. Took several minutes before greeted by any staff, and then it was a quick, soft voiced, "sit anywhere".. no welcome or anything.
We sit, and it took several minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink, get menus. Once we did get menus, barely have a minute to look it over (though we are obviously new to the place) we get a rushed "are you ready to order?" I asked for another minute to finish browsing the menu, and I was ready in literally a minute later.. but the waitress didn't come back for about 10 minutes later (my husband had finished his cup of coffee and I was ready to just pay for that and go) when she finally came back and took our orders... I was ready to go before that bc a long every wall were dead animals "trophy's".. guess I know what the trophy part of "trophy cafe" means....
Our meal finally comes (basic breakfasts of eggs, hash browns, French toast, and biscuits and gravy) and it not the best tasting. For being a breakfast place they sure lacked! Biscuits were dry and hard to eat, lack of gravy, under cooked eggs and hash browns...
Never stopped by to ask how we were doing, never checked how everything tasted.. we were pretty much ignored the whole time we were there... And when the bill was placed on our table it was quick as she was talking to another customer, a 'regular'. It's nice to see regulars treated with respect and friendly. But also need to remember the newbies too as that's how people become regulars.
Always worth checking out new places, but this place was not for us! From the moment we walked in the doors, we didn't feel the welcoming atmosphere. And the taxidermy on the walls EVERYWHERE we looked was unsettling. If I had known about the decor, I most likely would not have stepped...
Read moreFinishing off the weekend of my bachelor party and decided to stop at this place for brunch cause it had good reviews, big ol honkin mistake. We had a group of 10 and called ahead 2hrs before to reserve a table. When we arrived they did not have a table but prepared a setup for us, made things work. We ordered with no issues then commenced to wait… and wait… and wait. As we sat there with stomachs curdling, every swinging d who walked into this place after us was served. The waitress stopped by once and asked if we wanted more water and then said our food would be out soon. Another 30min pass, we’ve consumed another 4 chalices of water to fill the void. The kitchen had more than ample staff to accommodate our order. At this point we are nearing at closing time after having waited an hour and a half for our food, with no communication from the staff other than it will be out soon. At this point the curdling stomach has turned into a boiling rage. 8 minutes before closing the waitress comes up to us and asks if we want our food to go. Basically saying, we want to kick you out. Following that statement, she said we will need another 10-15 minutes on the food, literally putting us at 1hr 45mins on waiting for food. Essentially, it appeared as though they never wanted to make food for us because of our larger group of 10, even though we called ahead and got the ok. Essentially we waited an hour and a half to be told have a nice day, the food was never going to be made for us because they didn’t want to deal with it. Appreciate you ruining the last moments of my bachelor weekend, and making me late home for my fiancé’s birthday. No consideration, no communication, no f’s given. I wouldn’t even give this place a...
Read moreLet’s break this down into different categories.
Atmosphere: It is run like a small town family run cafe, very friendly staff, good lighting, mounted animals and fish taken by the owner, very faint music in the back ground. Nice and clean. Only complaint is it is a little cold in the winter time.
Food: Burgers are pretty good, the fries are outta this world. Breakfasts are top line, strongly recommend the steak and eggs. Good coffee. Good coffee is a must for a cafe.
Staff: very friendly and outgoing. Offer suggestions and recommendations. Presentable.
Overall, strongly recommend for breakfast or lunch (they close at 2). I wish they had a location closer to the...
