We were in Duncan for a funeral, and decided to go eat here with my brother and his fiance. Anytime I go to a restaurant I go with the intentions of ordering lavishly and tipping generously but I am sad to say that wasn't an option at wright's. From the moment we walked in, we were judged due to our appearance. We were treated as second rate citizens because we are younger people, as if I couldn't afford to be in such a place (side note, I've eaten breakfast at drunken 3 am cafes that were nicer than Wrights). We finally get menus from a waitress who appears to be working 20 tables at once while her co-workers did about 3 each and I was surprised to see prices crossed out and written over in ink pen (classy!). The other workers were screaming at each other about to go orders from across the room as well and in general they all seemed unhappy and rude (must not be paid enough!). The menu was dirty, the food was WAY overpriced for buffet quality and bland flavors, and the condiment (hot?) bar was crowded and gross. My brother ordered a $30 seafood meal, and got what looked like a Kids Meal from Long John Silvers. I had a chicken fried steak that tasted microwaved along with some powdered gravy and instant mashed potatoes. We choked down our "meal" before being greeted with the check: over $120 for 4 of us, just to end up ordering a pizza an hour later because we were all so deeply unsatisfied. I have eaten at fine dining establishments all over the country and this is by far the worst attempt at one ever. WILL NOT BE BACK, nor will I recommend this place to any of my business associates,...
Read moreI don't even want to give them one star. The waitress was RUDE! After waiting 30 minutes in the 90 degree heat waiting for a larger table, we were seated separately anyway. The tables were wet. Not damp, but WET. But at least they cleaned them. We sat there over 10 minutes without a waitress giving us any attention. So I tried to raise my hand to get one's attention, and boy, did I get it! She told me to "wait". "Be patient, we are busy." And then asked if I wanted menus. Out of shock, I nodded yes. What I wanted was what we all wanted at our table after waiting so long outside in the sweltering heat: something to drink! She got us menus and after looking at the high prices my husband and I decided to leave. Rudeness and high prices does not equal a good time at Wright's steak house. I found out later through another person who stayed to eat there that it was not good food, especially for the expensive prices, and the food gave that person a tummy ache that night. I'm glad I left and went to McDonald's in town and was greeted with smiles and a God bless you and have a blessed day instead of the grumpy staff at Wright's. Just because you're busy doesn't mean you have to be rude. I do not recommend...
Read moreWe had another fine experience in Wright's on a Monday. The service was very good, as many higher end restaurants. Our orders varied from chicken fried steak to filet. The dinners and staff are wonderful. My only issue was the fried okra. I from Minnesota where this isn't served, but I still know how it should taste. What I had scooped up, I wasn't able to stab with my fork. The salad bar had a nice assortment to accompany our dinners. My fillet was so tender and tender, I miss not being able to come down at least yearly. The chicken fried the others had were also taste and tender. I found another item I would change to my taste. Put some lumps into the mash potatoes if they aren't instant. I don't know if they are. The ice cream to finish the dinner us not a premium that we're a custom to in dairy country. When I had finished my dinner, a new batch of okra had come to replace the older rocks. I got a few to remind me how my grandmother made it for me some 60 years earlier. Will I come back? Every chance I can. Did I enjoy what I had? Yes. The meat us above what I can afford here. Keep your services I have trusted so many times before and I will continue my treks to see you. Thank...
