I love little mom and pop places and was excited to try this location. I should have walked out when none of the 4 girls standing in the front acknowledged that we walked in the door. It's Saturday morning and there was a short wait no issue except that there multiple staff just standing around not doing anything and at that point they weren't overly busy. Tables were so slowly bussed and everything seemed to be in slow motion. We got seated and somehow it got worse. We were seated and waited 15 min to get anyone to even give us a menu. We had to wave a server over. She couldn't take our order bc she was new and walked off. Still no menus or drinks. Then the table who came in 20 min after us was served and we were still waiting. We waved down another server and got drinks and ordered bc we pulled the menu off the internet. They made new "sweet " tea but no one put sugar in it. They gave my son unsweet twice before I told them again what the issue was. So they remade tea and watched it brew. I'm serious I watched two young ladies stand there watching the tea brew for the entire cycle. After another 20 min we got our food. Mine was Luke warm. The biscuits were good. I got my coffee refilled once. They seemed fully staffed and it's not a big place but lots of wasted time not spent on customers. I seriously felt like they weren't in a hurry to care for anybody. Oh and when they started getting busier they stopped having people wait for seating by a hostess and just told people to sit wherever. This seems counter intuitive and backwards from any restaurant I've worked in. Management should consider retraining that entire...

2 stars only because of the waiters, they were great and they're hospitality was unmatched. Food wise: ham steak is already salty, please don't add salt, just pepper! It's made to be seared on both sides about 3 mins each side for thick, 2 mins for that paper thin that was served. Ham came out like jerky, literally looked like saw dust on the plate after cutting it, only fat should be on the marbling, trim outer edge after cooked, and never never serve a ham steak cut with multiple bones to a customer. Either center bone or outer bone, but trim one out. Bad culinary etiquette to serve a ham steak with multiple bones and 30% fat & gristle. Hashbrowns burnt, yet came out cold. Eggs over medium means runny yoke, cooked white. We got runny both, that would be over easy. Toast set way too long under the heat lamp and came out cold and chewy. Toast is the last thing that should be cooked. All plates came out w/ cold food. I've been a chef in multiple 4 star & 5 star establishments, including culinary school for a year. Breakfast is the easiest thing to make, just have to know how to cook. I usually don't post bad reviews, but I've been here 4 times, and all 4 breakfast times are the same food quality. So that means it's a bad kitchen, not just bad food. Change your grease more often for a better taste, and find a cook that at least knows the basics. Only reason family returns, is because it's 1) only place in town for breakfast. 2) They like to support community businesses. Side note: I might have to open up shop on the other...

We had the good fortune of happening on this restaurant. We recently moved into the area, and we love trying out new to us venues. We drove over an hr. to get there...(we live in Lafayette, Ga. and at these gas prices this was a hike!) and I have to say, I will most definitely be back! The customer service is EXCELLENT and so I'd the food! The quality is there and for the money you pay as well as the portion sizes you get, you just can't beat this place. My husband loved their catfish. It wasn't oily, bland or flavorless and the batter on the fish was super crispy. There was absolutely no filler in that fish filet, the hush puppies don't disappoint and that baked potato salad is the bomb! The Philly cheese steak I ordered was absolutely worth risking 2nd degree burns for! My son is a super picky eater and there was nothing left from his plate of spaghetti. He couldn't resist the mozzarella sticks either. The desserts we had were on par with dinner! That hot lava cake is 2nd to none and the ice cream in the middle was a nice touch. Then again, you also can't go wrong with a nice piece of warm and super yummy pecan pie. 😋😁 Well worth the drive! 10/10...

The food is always cold. I really cannot believe that the community still supports a place that is so run down on the inside with such poor quality food. I have lived here for two years and given this place many chances. The meat is alway tough or to salty. Potatoes are never served warm. The fruit they put on top of the pancakes is disgusting. The biscuits crumble into basically powder. The fresh fruit that is seasonal tastes like an onion every time. This place really needs a little TLC, and a better cooking team. I always try to support local businesses.... but would rather drive 40 minutes to Waffle house. Edit: hasn't changed. The pepper shaker picture I added looks like it hasn't been cleaned since they opened. Just gross.

Breakfast or brunch is always awesome. This is a historic restaurant owned and managed by a family. The building itself is older, but that adds to the character and nostalgia. They stay pretty busy. They are worth the wait. They offer a variety of Southern classics. Their biscuits and home fries are homemade. Their chicken is hand battered and seasoned. They have some of the friendliest folks working there. Please be kind and patient if you go on a busy day. This is one of the places that haven’t increased their prices. They are reasonably priced and decent portions.
