Here are the facts about Jimmy’s Steak & Onion.
They use shaved ribeye. 👍🏼
The hoagie only comes with, steak and onion. “Cheesesteaks” traditionally come with meat, cheese, onions, and sometimes red sauce. In their defense, the name is “steak & onion” not “Jimmy’s Cheesesteaks”. 👎🏼
Jimmy was very friendly. 👍🏼
The meat and onions were pre-cooked then warmed up in the microwave, along with the bread and entire sandwich. 🤯 There was zero cooking on the griddle in front of you with steam, smell, and anticipation. 👎🏼
The sandwich came out in less than 5 minutes. 👍🏼
Based on previous reviews I asked for extra cheese, meat, and onions. They did oblige, but having to ask for this is inappropriate. So make sure to ask if you want a proper amount of ingredients. 👎🏼
Since no sauce was offered I dressed it with hot sauce, salt (based on previous reviews saying the meat was unseasoned), and ketchup. Result? Okay, not good. I expect better from a restaurant specializing in steak & onion sandwiches. 👎🏼
Hopefully this honest assessment helps Jimmy’s improve by helping you decide if it is worth trying out. Personally, I will not be back unless some changes are made.
I do wish Jimmy’s the best and am rooting for them to succeed, that is why I tried them over Big John’s tonight in the first place.
Edit after owner response
You’re sorry I feel what way? I didn’t mention my feelings. I simply gave an honest pros/cons of your food product. What part of the...
Read moreI was looking at other reviews and the 5 star ones are flat out lies, all of which being from 'local reviewers' with check marks and stuff. The nice things I will say about it is the people seem very nice and eager for business, but at the same time, the replies to the bad reviews say otherwise. Another review said that their meat taste like cinnamon and I definitely tasted it, I don't know what it is but it's such an odd taste for meat. Their food, sadly, is microwaved, which was so disappointing to find out, and is unacceptable as a steak and onion restaurant. If you want to go here, I would recommend getting extra cheese, it covers up the cinnamon taste quite well. I would like to come back and give this place another chance but there's a lot that needs to change before that happens. I wish you guys the best of luck and hope you take any of the criticisms to your restaurant into consideration to improve...
Read moreJimmy, let me start off by saying your hospitality and kindness stood out the moment we walked into the door! My husband, daughter & I were in the area and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat (to-go) and saw awesome reviews for this restaurant! We took the chance and boy did it pay off! When waiting for our order to be made (which didn’t take long at all) we enjoyed the atmosphere which consisted of super cool Coca Cola antiques. My husband got the steak & cheese with onion sandwich and was offered red sauce (which he was pleasantly surprised by) and he thoroughly enjoyed it and even wished he had gotten another! I got chicken wings with onions rings and finished it completely. My daughter got the kids meal (I tried the fries & tenders - Yum!) and he was very sweet to her. We are so excited we found a new spot! Keep doin’ what you’re doing! We...
