I visited this establishment for the first time yesterday afternoon. It appeared to be a nice little mom and pop restaurant and not busy at all so I thought ok let me try them out. I go in the ONLY person there and placed my order and two others came in after me. When my order and the guy that entered after me were up (at the same time) the the cashier decided to grab the mans order and hand it to him and rang him up for additional items. So when I stepped to the counter I mentioned this to her and she laughs and says so you mad? Now this takes me back a bit and I told her no I'm not I'm just bringing this to her attention, well this girl now has this arrogant attitude and takes her time giving me my order. I tell her give me my order so I can go she tells me she doesn't have to give me anything (wrong answer after I paid for it) she raises her voice and steps in view where her father can see her as we are now both raising our voices and she throws my order on the counter. Now her father comes out to defuse the situation and she says something to him in their language and storms in the back. I let him know what was said before he came out so he didn't think I was just verbally abusing his daughter he was very apologetic but the damage was already done with her smart mouth. But the moral of the story is they need to get a better cashier in there! I will NEVER visit there again and will discourage others from going there as well. Durham has too many restaurants to worry about this one!! The chicken was good but the sides...
Read moreI didn't want my husband to have to drive all the way across town to 70 to our usual seafood spot so we thought we'd try Mr Shark. He was willing to go and I wish I'd let him . The first things my husband said to me was that the hush puppies weren't included with the meal. When I opened the box the first thing I thought was maybe if they gave us less fries they could afford to include the hush puppies. Who does that? I can usually find something redeeming about any food I eat but, after biting into what was supposed to be flounder, I asked my husband how much the plates were. The look on his face told me that I really didn't want to know. He proceeded to tell me that he could have gone across town, got better food, got Hush Puppies included with the meal price and bought a piece of cake for less. I love to help new local businesses and I really hate leaving negative comments but I draw the line at quality. I don't know if it was because of the time of day or if it was the cook that was on duty but one should be able to walk into a restaurant at any time of the day and get a consistent level of service. So, why did I give it a rating of 2? The fish fried up pretty. I couldnr bring mysel to eat one whole piece. We will not...
Read moreUpdate: so they are saying the driver stole the mac and cheese, ketchup, tartar sauce, and cutlery....terrible customer service and it wasn't even 40 minutes from order to delivery so how did it sit after being cooked for 40 minutes. Just face the fact that your food sucks.
I ordered via Door dash. Prices are reasonable, and portion was decent. I ordered whiting plate with fries, Mac and cheese, tartar sauce and ketchup. Food arrived quickly, but I was missing the mac and cheese, tartar sauce and ketchup. The whiting was over cooked.. yet cold and dry as the desert. I didn't even touch my fries, they looked like they were freezer burnt. I had no condiments for my food. I did get half my money back from door dash, but I was still hungry. The food was inedible. I was trying to support a local restaurant, but I guess I'll have to keep driving 20m away to get decent fish plate. Maybe their wings are better, but I will not...
