Alvino's Pizza — Restaurant in Dyersburg

I have been going to alvinos since 2002 when I moved here from Chicago to Ripley. I now live in mason and I still will drive an hour to get this food because it’s that good to me. But today I drove this far and spent $57.48 and my deep dish was far from amazing as it usually is. It usually have a little Burnt edges but today was too burnt. I should have checked it before I left but alvinos usually never miss. Also it take took them over an hour to get my order completed with a deep dish and 2 combo italian beefs. I’m not complaining about the time either but if I had checked the pizza and asked for it to be remade I wouldn’t have wanted to wait another hour. The pizza was too burnt where the burnt taste was through and through the pizza and it wasn’t stuffed too well. I love alvinos I just hope today wasn’t the first day out of 20 years that they would start falling off on their food. The beefs was amazing as usual.

Update…I would like to say that the manager here is really nice and sweet. Not only did he leave a response immediately to resolve my issue but I was called personally. I love that. They will continue to get me and my family business. This is the only restaurant here in tennessee you can get authentic Chicago food. And they follow through everytime. After entering the restaurant into a very non-inviting looking building, we came to what was told to me as the best pizza in town. WRONG!

Let's start with the service. Honestly I wasn't overly impressed only because I work customer service. Though everyone was friendly, there didn't seem to be any interest in driving any sales other than what was. I was offered a menu to take if I wanted to order more later and the servers were patient as this was my first time. No one was rude, discourteous, or the like. I just didn't see any real organization in the staff.

Now the food:

Pizza - Spaghetti O's type sauce would've been an UPGRADE to whatever this was on my pizza. It was absolute garbage that I refused to eat after a piece. I literally threw away half the pizza because I didn't want to eat it. Also, where's the cheese? It was sauce with some sprinkles of cheese on a cheese pizza.

Went here every day for a week. On the last day my order was wrong - didn't notice until I made it home. Called the owner at the time and he said he would take care of me the next time I came in. Came in two days later and he had amnesia even AFTER re-explaining the scenario. I only paid for my new order of what should have been "taken care of" because I witnessed him say "these people always want something for free" after the lady in front of me ran out to her car to grab a few cents for her order.
