Roy Boy's Barbecue — Restaurant in Dyersburg

Passing through on our way home and we stumbled across this quaint, nondescript, tiny little building that if you’re not looking for it, you’ll likely pass it by. That would be a TERRIBLE mistake. The meat this man cooks up and serves daily is straight from heaven above.

The pulled pork is juicy and full of flavor and served with just a bit of sauce. Absolutely tasty, exactly as it should be. I got the little piglet portion, which was huge. I can only imagine how big the regular size is.

But the real star of the show are those ribs. Omg, they are a treat! Fall off the bone into your mouth tender. It’s like meat porn for your soul. Everything you imagine about southern bbq becomes reality with every bite. You can literally taste the love this man puts into his food.

We also tried the green beans, baked beans and potato salad, all equally good but the bbq itself is worth the trip and well worth the money. We’re from St. Louis and we have plenty of good spots here, but we will be coming back...

I cook a lot of BBQ. I travel to Texas and throughout the Southeast for work and sample as many BBQ joints as I can while traveling. We had a hankering for Q mid-week and I didn't feel like firing up the smoker for a day, so we finally tried Roy Boy's, picking up the pulled pork family pack. Honest review: This is good stuff! A lot of folks like my pork butts. This tastes very much like mine, just a hint sweeter on the rub. I recognize/use the technique for keeping it moist and it works well! The only "slight" ding on the pork, and this is personal preference, is the chop. It's a bit fine. I like mine pulled instead. That way the sauce (if preferred) and slaw can meld in. Other than that: FANTASTIC! The beans were great, the slaw rivals KFC for my favorite, the potato salad was really good, and the sauces were good as well. Highly recommend! the 4/5 on the Atmosphere is the parking. No big deal. Try parking at Grecian! Great job guys!...

My experience with this place began with an online message i sent them very early Saturday morning to find out if they would be open or not. I received a promt response with their weekend hours of 11-2. Perfect! I was traveling to Dyersburg to visit with family and was looking for some bulk pulled pork. After reading local reviews, I settled on Roy Boy's. Let me tell you...THIS BBQ IS DELICIOUS!! My family raved about it. It is everything you want BBQ to be..juicy, smoky, tender and boasting with flavor. To top it off, the sauce is equally as amazing. If I could give this little place 10 stars, I would! They even have a convenient little drive up window to pick up the food. The young man working at the window on Saturday May 13th was very polite and knowledgeable. We look forward to visiting again and bringing home some of that...
