I am very disappointed with my first experience. I got 12 cookies, 2 choc. chip, a molasses, a peanut butter, a sugar, a monster, an oatmeal raisin, an oatmeal chocolate chip, a salted caramel, a pistachio, a carrot cake, and the oreo chip thing. The oreo one was edible, the salted caramel and oatmeal chocolate chip were actually pretty good, the rest ended up in the garbage after a few bites. They were hard and stale. I bought them on a Sunday so perhaps the lesson is dont go on Sunday? Sadly the chocolate chip was the worst, they tasted like they were 3 days old at least and went in the trash immediately. Staff was friendly, place seemed nice with a little parking lot next to it. I will try again, but just one cookie next time and only if they'll bake it fresh for me. Else I'd suggest going to Insomnia or even go to McDonald's a have a tote of chocolate chips baked fresh for a few bucks (insist on fresh made cookies and wait for them...
Read moreI am always on the lookout for amazing and delicious cookies, and I am so grateful to find T-Rex Cookie, mostly on accident! I have been coming here regularly ever since. The staff is pleasant, the atmosphere is excellent, and it's kid-friendly! But the most important part - their cookies are so delicious!! I'm impressed because it is surprising how many bakeries sell sub-par hard/tasteless cookies and I find these at T-Rex to be cooked nearly to perfection every time. The chocolate chip is actually my favorite and the most consistently soft & delicious. We have tried the more creative flavors and some are really good and well thought out, and some are mostly fun in the moment. We also really enjoy the sugar cookie, which I rarely order elsewhere. Other great details : the T-Rex decor is so great! They even have toys & books for kids. The french soda w/lavender is such a delicious treat. I love their couches. They sell local art and...
Read moreWell took my daughter both of us was the first time there to the university ave shop.
It's more of a coffee shop, they had a very small display case for cookies, enough to hold maybe 8 different kinds, we had the choice of 5 and not what we wanted, so that was the first disappointment, employee said well she ( tina the owner ) makes 100 different kinds but not here, at the the other shop...wonderful.
I was expecting a real cookie shop, not a coffee shop with a few cookies...sigh.
So I got a peanut butter and daughter got a chocolate chip, mine was burnt on the bottom and a 1/8" into the cookie while the inside was under cooked so they are baking them on a way too hot temp.
So $8.50 for 2 poorly baked cookies, I will not be going back and no idea what all the hype was for ?
I drove from west st.paul as well, what a waste of time,...
