Blackburn's BBQ — Restaurant in Eagle Lake

This was my first visit to the restaurant, we used to pick up from the trailer on the weekends.

The new place is small but expanding soon, and as good as the food is they need more room. Hopefully they will use some of the added space to increase waiting/ ordering line area. When you enter you get in line to visit the cashier to order and pay and then they bring the food to your table when ready, and it didn't take long. There is a bottleneck at the cashier especially if you park on the northbound 17 side and come in right at the cashier with a line formed from the other side. The kit in the northbound 17 side is narrow, parked right off the highway, and I'd advise using the larger lot behind the building for easier access and easier exit rather than backing onto 17 to leave.

I had the brisket, mac n cheese and BBQ beans ... the food was great! My favorite might actually be the BBQ beans, they were fantastic. The brisket was wonderfully cooked and tender. They have three sauces on the table; original, sweet, and spicy. I preferred the original but they were all good. The cornbread muffin is good, but it's sweet and my family has always done an unsweetened cornbread so I definitely prefer that, but if you like sweet cornbread you'll like this one.

We took a slice of pecan pie to go. The filling was awesome, the crust tasted off to us. My BIL had the banana pudding and enjoyed it. We're curious about the other pies.

Imagine being so inconvenienced by brisket withdrawal that you leave a 1-star review because a family-owned business dared — DARED — to shut down for one week to, brace yourselves… take their family on a family vacation. The horror! How ever did you survive without your pulled pork for seven whole days?

Let me guess: you’re the kind of person who complains about Chick-fil-A being closed on Sunday and thinks a “Closed for Family Time” sign is a personal attack.

This is Florida, sweetie — not whatever frozen tundra y’all came from where everything’s “open 24/7 because feelings are optional.” Down here, we still believe in front porch values, strong sweet tea, and taking care of your own. If that ruffles your store-bought rotisserie chicken feathers, might I suggest a different ZIP code?

The Blackburns are doing it RIGHT: living life, raising a family, and making some of the best dang BBQ this side of the Mason-Dixon. And they told everyone about the break — on social, their page, and they even made the news. Meanwhile, you’re out here acting like you just found out Disney World closed early for rain.

So when they come back refreshed, tan, and ready to fire up the smoker again — you can either get with the program or keep pouting. But trust me… nobody’s missing your energy at the picnic table.

Decided to write a review because we decided to come here based on the reviews and I am happy to say they are 100% true! If anything people are downplaying how good it really is. The food is PHENOMENAL. When you smell the oak-smoked meats you just know. Someone said it was the best meal they’ve had in their life and I almost have to agree. Meat is fall off the bone tender with amazing flavor. Ribs are the best I’ve had in central florida. I didn’t try the brisket because my partner devoured it. Sides were good especially Mac and cheese, collard greens, and the fried okra as an appetizer. Sweet tea was huge and blueberry cider on tap was great! Staff is extremely welcoming and warm they make you feel right at home. Amanda at the bar delivered top tier service and conversation despite it being so busy. Management was present and helpful. I think the owner came by to ask how everything was going and what dishes we got and we even heard management cheering the kitchen on. Kitchen staff and foh staff was smiling, in good spirits and fast. Everything was truly top tier especially seeing how busy it was service was very fast. Don’t overthink it just go. Someone also said they drove an hour here and would drive two, we actually did drive an hour here and are definitely coming back soon.
