This is going to be long and I never leave reviews but this ones worth it.....We stopped in for a late dinner due to our mishap at our cabin our first night in NM. We came from Oklahoma and was spending a week in Ute Park to do some bike riding all around. We found we had plumbing issues at the cabin when we got there and the guys worked on the problem for quite some time only to find out that we needed a plumber. Well being a late Saturday evening and not knowing the area, after several phone calls and not being able to find a plumber that we couldn't we get out to the cabin until a few days from then we decided to take a break from that mess and go into Eagle Nest for dinner. We were hoping that some place would be open and lucky enough, we were able to stop in to the Lucky Shoe and eat. Susan was our waitress and she was a sight for sore eyes when we thought we were out of options for a plumber until the following week, she took her time on what looked like a busy night for them to write down some plumber's names and was able to tell us where we could get showers for the night since we had no water. She laughed with us, joked with us and asked around herself for any answers that may have helped us and did it all with a smile. There was a girl band there that night, that was very nice, the atmosphere was very friendly and the food great. Needless to say Susan was a big help in many ways that night and we all truly appreciated the time she took to help us out of towners out and her service was awesome. We found a plumber that was able to come out to the cabin the very next morning (early) and fixed the problem quickly and be on his way. We were able to enjoy the rest of the week, with showers! Thank You Susan from Tina, Steve, Deena, Richard...
Read moreIf I could, I would not even give one star, we were not even given the opportunity to even try the food, but it was the service from the very beginning. Actually, we never even got to order anything but our appetizers amd s rinks and were told about 10 minutes later that they had not even been started. I do understand whenever there is one person and one cook that there could be a problem with timing, but we were absolutely willing to wait. I would like to get it out there that the owners wife is fabulous at running off customers. She cannot even handle a nine top. She asked us to leave because she couldn’t handle servicing us as a table of nine when there were very few people in the restaurant. I will say the drinks were great though. And there was a generous woman that offered to help her and she doesn’t even have enough respect for her own employees. I’m not even sure if she was an employee, but maybe a friend that offered to help. For you I am so sorry that we were asked basically to leave because she could not handle us because we would’ve tipped you all day long. She has no idea the amount of money that came in there this evening that she just...
Read moreThe absolute BEST place to eat in Eagle Nest/ Angel Fire. We came here after a long day of snow boarding looking for a change from the usual burger, chicken tenders, pizza, and fries. Being from Texas we were skeptical of the quality/taste of barbecue that we could find in New Mexico but Lucky Shoe Grille put some of our local places to shame! Our group of 4 ordered a pulled bbq chicken sandwich, a sliced beef brisket sandwich, the rib dinner, and the brisket dinner. Everything we received was flavorful, juicy, and fresh even with us coming in very close to closing. The beans were tasty and complimented the meal well along with the potatoe salad. Mark the owner served us and took the time to get to know us and discuss the bbq and what brought him here to New Mexico from Oklahoma. We are only here for 5 days but plan to stop by one last time before heading out. Take my...
