Dinner tonight was at the newly remodeled Southern Weaving Mill, and is now named The Southern Weaving Food Hall with some of my family. It’s in a good location and the entrance going in from downtown Easley is easy, coming from Pickens, if traffic is heavy might be a problem as well as trying to exit the parking lot, going back towards downtown Easley. There is plenty of parking, much better than The Silos where parking is a joke. There is a really nice amphitheater with plenty of outside seating, where live music was being played, as well as outside seating for dining. There is a Kids Play and Cafe similar to Kangaroo Jax, just on a smaller scale. I read also that there will be line dancing on Wednesdays. The food hall itself is large with plenty of tables. They do allow dogs in the food hall, that I did not like. Not everyone loves your animal, especially while people are eating. There are many food options, The Burger Lab, Mac Daddy Chicken, Doodle Noodle, Home Slice Pizza, Ice Cream Factory, Southern Weaving Tap house and Higher Ground Coffee House. The Ice Cream Factory and Higher Ground have not opened yet. At the eateries you place and pay for your order, and get a text when it’s ready to be picked up at the food pick up. At the food pick up you can also get your condiments, eating utensils and beverages. I ordered food from Mac Daddy Chicken, playing it safe with chicken strips (4) and a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was warm in places and not heated at all in other places(it wasn’t reheated long enough) and was just pasta and a light cheese sauce with no flavor. The chicken was hot, not a lot of flavor to the tenders, and parts of the chicken tenders were tough. Hopefully later on you’ll be able to individually rate each restaurant. Mac Daddy Chicken was a one and done for me, and if I could rate just Mac Daddy Chicken I would give them 2 stars. I do plan on returning to try the other restaurants, and I would recommend that people come check out the much needed new addition of entertainment and places to dine in Easley. As usual it’s always good to spend time...
Read moreI'm certain I'll revise this review. We went opening weekend with music, it was PACKED!!! They have several things to work out but overall I love it!!! I'm certain with the support, kind feedback, and patience of the community this is going to be a big long term success. Tips: Be patient, there's a whole lot going on and they need instructions as you enter. First, way back in the left corner is the bar, with a burger place, hopefully they post someone back there to point out which line to get a cocktail vs burger. There's an actual room with a bar in the very back, we couldn't get in there, but I think as things calm down you will be able to sit and get service??? Several places to get food, all of them had lines. Order at any of them, they take your name and number and text when ready for pick up. I'm certain owners are working on systems to smooth out the flow, the kitchen and pickup area was not functioning great so it was a bit of a bottleneck. But, everyone was nice and patient as only half our food was ready when we were called. They ran out of pizza it was so popular. We had the Asian good flavor, mostly noodles (which is yummy but could be a little better balanced). The tuna bowl looked like it had more other stuff in it and was gone quickly after I tried one bite, I'll order it next time. Burgers for 2 in our party must have been good, also gone quickly. The venue is really big, lots of room to spread out. Bring your chair 🪑 to create a better experience. Whole families were out enjoying our first cooler summer evening. Dogs are welcome, please make sure your dog doesn't get stressed by crowds. Most were relaxed and happy but those are the only ones who should come. I could see the possibility in the future for a designated dog run area, everyone needs a place to go. Bummer ice cream wasn't open for this event, they really missed out. Looking like maybe they will open something outside, really needs to be a bar. People were dancing, enjoying their meals with family, I really hoped when we walked Doodle Trail that one day that old factory would be a community place, and it...
Read morewe went to eat after walking the doodle trail, expectations were super high, once we got food we were super disappointed. we tried the noodle place, burger, and chicken. burger was fantastic, but the other two weren't so great. the chicken place especially, we got the nashville hot bowl, as well as chicken tender basket. the bowl had an INSANE amount of grease, we had to throw it away due to how bad it was. the tenders were VERY dry and overcooked, when we seen others, it was just ours that appeared that way. the noodle's chicken was also, dry and overcooked. the service was just as bad, nobody was friendly, or smiling. dirty looks from everyone, no welcoming smiles or personality. we wont be back!! especially for food! WAY too pricy for what you receive, mcdonalds is 100xs better for less!! as well as, a girl was on the food line, mean mugging while she was playing with her hair for an EXTENDED period of time,...
