I haven't been to Harvest Moon in a few years. I also haven't dined in the formal dining room. The pianist is a nice touch, as always. The fireplace was going in the dining room, which was nice since each time the door opened some cold air blew in. The dining room needs an update - wallpaper is outdated. The appetizer selection was heavy on seafood. We decided to go with salads instead. I ordered the beef tenderloin and my husband tried the wild boar which was on the specials list. The waitress said it was like beef but more tender. That couldn't be further from the truth. The boar was served on the bone and was very tough to cut and had a lot of fat. The beef tenderloin, however, was perfect. I wouldn't get the boar again though. We had creme brulee and a pumpkin ice cream sundae for dessert which were both enjoyable. Menu needs more variety in appetizers - try less seafood. The service needs the most work. The hostess and bartender were professionals, but once you sat down, the wait staff is very young and it shows. No fresh ground pepper on salads or entrees! No wiping away crumbs between courses! For the prices at Harvest Moon, the servers should be going the extra mile and it wasn't just our server, they all were the same. I would go back but maybe in the Tavern next time and hope they improve...

My wife and I've been here a few time. The food is delicious. I do not have any problems with the food. The reason I didn't give it a full 5-stars is because of two things: atmosphere and beer/wine list. This is an old building. It reminds me of wife's grandmother's house in Maine. It certainly feels like there is some history. I like a more modern appearance. The wine list isn't terrible, infact it's pretty vast. However, my gripe is the lack of Sauvignon Blanc from the New Zealand area. Lastly, the beer selection could use more local breweries as well as some more session IPA's. Again, food is great, the wine list is vast (ultimately I did find a wine) and beer list isn't awful. I would...

Dangerous! Do not eat here!

Previous review was suspiciously removed from trip advisor so I'm posting here.

Recently ate here with my wife and there was a 1" shard of plastic in her second bite of mashed potatoes. She could have choked or cut her mouth! We were told it was from the container that they kept it in. They didn't even comp our whole meal despite us leaving immediately! Only her meal and one drink. Will never eat here again!

P.S. They served the bread with unsalted butter, which was a first for us. We asked about it out of curiosity and they said it was a "high end restaurant thing" and to "salt it yourself". Very strange, as we've been to plenty of more expensive...

I went for Thanksgiving dinner with family. We were a larger party so had to order from the pre-fix menu. The soup came out warm (would have preferred it to be hot), but still tasted good. The turkey dinner was filling and delicious! I chose the glazed apple puff pastry which was good.

My uncle took me here for lunch today. He comes here regularly, it’s one of his favourite places to eat. I’m totally in agreeance, The best soup I have ever tasted! - no lie. Seafood sausage and polenta is devine. Fabulous service. Coffee is excellent too.

Very cute restaurant with an amiable staff. A nice bar with great food. However, the bathroom sink is not working so I would rather not think about all the unclean hands walking around this restaurant. At least provide some hand sanitizer, please.
