"A good story is always better than a good time." Or, in this case, "a good story AND time is aways better than a good pizza." The best part about our visit to That'sa Pizza are the laughs it provided.
Noting all the chairs atop tables before even entering, we thought perhaps they were getting ready to close or just weren't doing inside seating (which was confusing since another patron was eating at the window railing). It was the first time we'd been to TP, yet perceiving they were getting ready to close (we arrived 15 mins before the hour, reasonable consideration), or weren't doing dine-in, asking made sense. The kid at the counter proceeded to look into the kitchen for apparent approval before granting us the okay to sit down. Weird. You're either open and serving inside or you're not. Why the need to seek approval from someone else? Upon taking a seat - at a booth where seats were still able to be occupied - we noted closing wasn't to be for another 75 mins. Huh. Confusing. Also confusing? Why the lights atop the booths were off. More confusion: going back up to ask for my salad pre-pizza and receiving it in a go box and bag. (Hubs: here's your bag, what's your hurry.) That the trash was repeatedly checked by multiple employees in the short time we were there also lent to a sense either they were trying to close early, or really had not wanted us to dine in (we were both showered, dressed decent, smiled, were articulate...) Just strange (albeit funny). The best part of the experience (besides the laughter) was the pizza coming out in record-time. To the tune of us being able to be in and out in roughly 30 minutes, and with roughly 45 more minutes before they were due to close. Unfortunately, while very hot, it just didn't have much flavor. The crust - crispy - just bland. Ditto the cheese and sauce (pepperoni can't help but have flavor). Leaving, hubs stated: I didn't even feel welcome there. Overall, a very confusing - but fun/funny...
Read moreI give this place two stars only because I have normally had great past experiences... from other That'sa Pizza locations. I also know the owners from the past and know they would not condone terrible service. However, my husband and I just called into the Hammond location to place an order for delivery... the location is maybe 2 miles from our new apartment. We told them from the beginning that it is a new apartment building and it is not yet on Google. My husband was on the phone for maybe 5-10 minutes trying to get them to understand this. Gave them our address and had to continuously repeat our address because the guy on the phone just was not getting it. Finally my husband hands me the phone and I give the guy the address for the community center, which I told him I was doing from the beginning. I had to repeat myself at least 5 times with the number alone. Then he got the street name wrong by going back to the actual name of our street address. After I gave him the new address, he repeated back to me THE OLD ADDRESS that we had initially gave him. It was such a painful conversation that both my husband and myself had gotten migraines. Seriously, not a fun process and very disappointed with the service. I just hope for their sake we get our pizza in a good amount of time or we will most likely not be coming back to...
Read more(Updated 2023) I have recently been going to this location during the lunch and early afternoon hours and the service is much more appropriate at this time of day. The Food is consistently above average. This location is still more of a carry out or quick lunch stop location, given the one room louder dining area.
older review based on evening dining Where to begin regarding this location? The small dining area echoes, so when there are more than three people present you cannot hear yourself think. There is no music playing in the dining room. However, the music the employees are listening to is as clear as day from the food prep area. This would be okay if they were listening to the radio or something generally approved for all audiences. Instead, they are often listening to some experimental rock that involves screaming animals and ten-minute-long drum or guitar solos. I understand that working at a pizza place attracts a certain individual however my order is consistently misunderstood and messed up, which wouldn't be an issue if the employees would ever make eye contact or an effort to acknowledge your presence. The last offense from this location was when I was dining in and the fellow working proceeded to mop all around me, leaving me surrounded by slippery floors. The...
