Ordered Tuna tataki and miso soup. I needed low carb due to blood sugar and this fit the bill. The tataki was sooo good. I ordered 2 of each, one for dinner and one for lunch. All was take away except one of the tuna tataki’s. Miso soup was also delicious and comforting on a rainy day. I didn’t have sashimi or sushi but that had a sushi bar there to have it made fresh.

Ever since I made my first trip here for japanese cuisine on my birthday, this establishment has never failed to satisfy. All of their sushi and makis are spot on delicious. Eel fried rice, oh yes please. Of course their salad appetizers are wonderful as well. Overall nice and cozy environment, friendly staff.

Little hole in the wall with solid community following. Good special sushi rolls and super friendly service. A good variety of rolls to choose from. The spicy crunchy tuna and tatami rolls are tasty. Also try the vegetarian roll and the seared sea weed rolls if you're up for something new.

Can't say enough good things about this little gem. A family-run business, you'll see the owner & his wife on any given night. Zi & the sushi chefs are absolute artists in their creations, with something for everyone on the menu (and if it's not too busy, even things NOT on the menu!) From simple California or tuna maki to complex, taste-bud-bursting, out of this world Alligator maki (no, there's not really alligator in it, just insanely good shrimp tempura with seared eel & magic sauce), no restaurant tops Tatami. The presentation of each is beautiful, and the chefs prepare each order like it was for their own family. We're incredibly fortunate to have this lovely sushi bar local to us-pricing is MORE than fair (go ahead & compare to the local competition-Tatami blows them away in every respect). The appetizers are perfect accompaniments to their sushi rolls, and the Pad Thai is perfection (& enough to serve at least 4 as a side dish) & I don't know what kind of magic goes into the simple edamame, but it's better than any other local places. My most oft-placed order is the High Wave roll, a combination of tunas & spices & avocado & spicy sauce that'll knock your socks off, with either gyoza or edamame (okay fine-BOTH) . Do yourself a favor & go, go, go! Take out is fantastic, but the service alone will make you want to sit down & enjoy the experience-the waitstaff is quick, friendly & attendant to every table. Beer & wine are on the menu (traditional & Asian varieties of both), as well as the standard sodas & other interesting & kid-friendly food & drinks. It's a little further down the road than the local Italian/sushi/pizza/chinese place (not sure about those food pairings), but what's an additional 3 miles when the food & service is this good?! Support small businesses-especially now, they need us as much as...

I cannot recommend Tatami enough. I've been going here since they opened, and they never disappoint. The sushi itself is amazing, is easily the best I've ever had in the South Shore, and is only surpassed by sushi places I have been to in a major city near the ocean. Always fresh and flavorful, and plenty of different options for any taste preference. The price for the quality of sushi you are getting is awesome, too, a lot better than other places in the area where the sushi isn't close to as good.

The service there is always attentive, quick and well-informed. Specifically the owner, Z, is gracious, professional, and friendly, and is one of the primary reasons I have continued to go there. He is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his craft, and will give you plenty of good suggestions.

If you are looking for the best sushi in the South Shore, this is the...

We ordered take out for us and a few friends (6 of us total) -- gyoza, crab rangoon, sirloin teriyaki, vegetable tempura, yaki ramen, crazy maki, salmon maki, salmon sushi, and spring rolls. When we got the food home, we realized we were missing the crab rangoon and spring rolls. Before my husband could call, Tatami called us to let us know we were missing some of our order -- excellent customer service! We went back to get the rest of the food and then feasted! Everything was fresh and delicious. I love the spicy yaki ramen with vegetables and can usually make it last for 2-3 meals. My husband said the crab rangoon reheated in the air fryer was just as good the second day. Nothing but good things to say. This wasn't our first time ordering and it definitely won't...
