Island Style — Restaurant in East Cleveland

This was my favorite Jamaican spot I haven't been here in awhile due to their sporadic hours. Does anyone know if they are still open?

Ok so I have found out that they are still open. However I cannot recommend this spot. I went there sat out side for an hour. I finally see someone walk to their door so I get out of my car to see if they are open. When I heard the owners daughter saw she wouldn't be open for another hour while she waits until the rice was done (until about 2:45). I asked if I could make an order without rice and was told no. This "establishment opens whenever they want to and it's a piss poor business plan. It wasn't like this back in the late 90's when the owner/ mother ran the business. Always good food here. THE BEST JERK CHICKEN ANYWHERE, INCLUDING JAMAICA. Great fried dumplins as well!! I have been a customer for over 20 yrs. Whenever I visit the city now that I have relocated, its always on my list of things to do while visiting. I have often complained about the service, especially the one time she tried to over charge me. Attitude is unbearable at times and sometimes, not too bad. I attribute to the fact that possibly, the restaurant was her mothers dream and not hers. Sometimes life happens and you look up and yrs have gone by and you hadn't made a move on your own goals in life. So I try to empathize with her. I wish I had of read these reviews before I went there. The food was not good st all. If I didn't know what Jamaican food is supposed to taste like. I would never want it again. The curry was way to spicy and I like spicy food but it was to spicy to enjoy. The cabbage looked like it had just been torn up buy some kid then it had no good flavor. The plantain was good and the oxtail where boney and they cost to much to just be getting mostly bones. Now the ladies attitude in there was not good I agree with the previous post she was very slow with service she was still adding food to the warming area there fore she was not ready to serve customers.
