Historical and a grand building, now with hundreds of Christmas lights and displays... I heard that in the past you could drive through the park and they had animated displays but we didn't see any of those and there didn't appear to be any of the decorations in along the drive inside-just all along Noble Road. I actually worked in the lighting/lamp business for about 3 years in my career and at one point visited Nela Park because we were partnered with GE, they were doing some testing for us on our high intensity discharge lighting it... was a bit surreal as there were only like two people in this humongous building and they came and got me in the lobby and took me to the lab is my memory... Hoping that this historic landmark and festivities of lighting continue...

But every Christmas what a display of lights. Never got a chance to get a tour. Back then it just wasn't done. Every Christmas,when she came for the holiday with us, she brought new bulbs for the tree lights. She and her friend both retired from Ge with 50 years each. They had a wonderful party. Read moreI was excited last evening to drive my 89 year old Mother from Akron area to Nela Park to drive thru the park to see the wonderful light show that we both remember from our childhood. How disappointed we were!!!! There are lights along the street but nowhere near the lights that were. Had we known this was what we would view, we would not have driven nearly an hour.
