Alessandro's Pizzeria — Restaurant in East Goshen Township

We ordered a grandma’s pizza, 10 BBQ wings, a cheesesteak, and some fries. The prices were a bit high ($8 for fries??) but we heard mixed reviews and it was close by so we tried it. The food was finished quickly and we did pick up, so no problems there.

The Food: The pizza was overcooked and very salty. I’m not sure if it was the cheeses they used or a garlic salt, but we could not eat it. The fries—OMG. They showed up floppy and greasy. Totally gross and undercooked. We tried putting them in the oven but there was no saving these. Very, very bad. The BBQ wings were fine. The cheesesteak was the best of the bunch. Very bare bones—just meat and cheese. Didn’t see any onion, but they may have cooked down. No option for mushrooms or anything else. The bun was good, however.

Overall, a bad night of takeout. Not to mention it’s overpriced. You are much better off over at Patelmos...

I really wanted to love this place. Our first try was a plain cheese pizza during their second week open. We got it home and it was already cold. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back on Father’s Day. Sadly, same issue. Cold pizza again, and my cheesesteak was underwhelming. The roll was toasted but almost too much, and the meat just did not hit the mark. My wife’s Italian hoagie? Fell apart the moment she picked it up. The roll was dry and seemed stale.

Here is the thing: the pizza actually tastes good, which makes this all the more frustrating. The shop itself is beautiful. Clean, modern, and inviting. You can tell someone cared about making it feel like more than just another pizza place.

I really hope the owner sees this and makes some changes. West Chester deserves better, and Alessandro’s has potential. But right now, potential...

Called in to order family dinner. Attempted to order my toddler a slice of pizza but was told I couldn’t over the phone to just order at counter upon pick up. I get to pickup, great variety of specialty spices, no plain pizza. So had to wait for them to cook a new pie for my picky toddler to get a slice. But then it turned out the Stromboli was not watched and was burnt so they remade it, but they didn’t make new fries so those were gross and soggy, we had to toss them.

I didn’t love the customer service. I just feel like for a new place who is trying to bring in new customers, they should have done something to improve the customer experience.
