Had a terrible experience here a few weeks ago. Yes I waited to post a review as I contacted Fellini's first and wanted to give the owner or manager a chance to rectify the issue but no one made any attempt to contact me OR make the situation right. It was Veteran's day when we went to Fellini's with my brother who is a vet and he specifically chose this establishment. We went with his wife, myself, him, and my three nephews. When we arrived we saw that there was a large party of about 30 people that were on one half of the restaurant. I didn't think this would be an issue with our service or food quality but it was. First the server took our bottles of wine from the table for around 20 minutes until we flagged down another server to retrieve our bottles. I don't know why they were taken off the table in the first place and not opened in front of us right away but we let that go. We ordered the calamari appetizer, 2 seafood medley's, a penne dish, and for the kids grilled chicken with a side of pasta and a chicken cutlet for my nephew. The calamari took over 45 minutes to arrive and was poorly plated, no side salad was on the dish (which the dish always comes with), and tasted greasy and was all tentacles and no rings. Very disappointing. The kids food arrived with the appetizer. My nephew loved his grilled chicken but let me emphasize that it was two very thin pieces of chicken and a small side of pasta. We were charged a whopping $19 which would have been fine if this dish was adult portions but it was not. My other nephew had a few pieces of chicken cutlet on a plate and the cost was also $19 and it wasn't an adult portion. If you don't offer kid meals then the least you could do is give the kids adult portion to justify the cost. Our 3 meals for the adults didn't arrive for an hour after the appetizer. It was ridiculous. We received no apology for the wait in food. If you can not be properly staffed when you have a large party in the restaurant then you should close the restaurant for the party. My sister and I were served the seafood medley which we normally love despite the $35 cost because it's delicious and loaded with seafood. It wasn't this time. The dish had cold crab meat on top, no shrimp or calamari as mentioned in the description and just a few clams and mussels. When the bill arrived, my sister tried to nicely speak with the manager who couldn't care less about our concerns, horrible service, and being overcharged. After being in the restaurant for close to 3 hours, the kids were miserable and we were all ready to leave. I will never return to this restaurant. Had the manager or owner contacted me a few weeks ago, I could have overlooked this experience and been back. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years so I am sympathetic to the struggles of the wait staff, chef, and pleasing customers but anytime I've had a bad experience at a restaurant the owner has always made it right. The manager/owner here didn't even care to respond to my email or give me a call. Do better. I will not be returning, nor will my family and friends who often frequent...
Read moreAMAZING SPACIOUS BYOB ITALIAN DINING EXPERIENCE. FRESH DELICIOUS FOOD MADE WITH PRIDE.
We started with two apps table side mozzarella and sausage and broccoli rabe.
The sausage and rabe was delicious and the owner was nice enough to throw in some beans for my Brazilian friend.
The mozzarella was next level. They brought out a little cart with mozzarella curd and prepared everything right there. So fresh so delicious, I have a new obsession.
For entrees, I had the chicken picanta and it was amazing. The lemon butter sauce and capers complemented the tender and juicy chicken breasts. I got the side of vegetables because I had already indulged in two amazing appetizers
My girlfriend got the Mediterranean Branzino and was beside herself with the light and fresh fish packed with flavor.
Finally we got some espresso and had dessert. Canolies were delicious and the shells ultra crisp. They were my favorite. My girlfriend loved the homemade cheesecake, which wasn't too sweet and paired beautifully with the strong coffee.
I'm likely to become a regular, there is so much to try and that...
Read moreBrutal experience at Fellini Cafe. We arrived on time for our reservation, and waited almost 10 minutes for a hostess to come over and greet us. Once they greeted us we were seated and promptly received our bread and water. I guess that is when we became invisible again. We were right near the entrance to the kitchen so waiters/waitresses walked past us repeatedly but nobody even looked at us. We just sat there with our bottle of wine (unopened) and bread for 5, 10, 20 minutes. At one point we heard one of the waitresses comment to another that we had been sitting there for awhile, so we thought maybe they would come over at that point, but no. After 25 minutes we decided to head up the street to Fiorello Cafe where we had a lovely dinner.
I get places are short-staffed, and we are very understanding of that, but to not even have someone come over and say they’ll be right with us is something. And we were not the only ones…another couple followed us out the door after not receiving getting any service either. Such a shame because the food that came by...
