Everything about this place is amazing! There's outdoor sitting, obviously indoor seating. Seating by the windows to look out to the lake. The server was extremely friendly and attentive. Super nice and sweet. Made a few suggestions. Told us the special of the day, which also sounded amazing! The bleu cheeseburger I had was absolutely amazing. Out of this world amazing! Probably one of the best burgers I had. The onion rings tasted fresh! Very relaxing atmosphere. Great music choices they had, which can also be heard outside as well. The busboy (idk if you still call them that)? Went right to our table to clean up when we were leaving. Everyone seems to always be working or doing something to stay busy, Even if there's not a lot of customers around like today. Just really friendly people. Very smiley. My husband who usually always gets sick after eating on a regular basis, didn't today after eating here. Everything was made to perfection and I'll probably come back to this wonderful restaurant before leaving to go back home! Back home at Applebee's price would be 54. For two people it was under $50. What a great deal for the beautifulness atmosphere and lakeside view! Out of anywhere to get food at gull lake I would highly...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to dine at Ernie's for my birthday , a restaurant that I regularly visit when at my cabin. while initially promising, quickly turned into a frustrating experience due to miscommunication and an unexpected waitlist situation. We first were put on the outdoor seating waitlist with the outdoor hostess stand. the hostess also mentioned an open seating policy inside the restaurant, I found myself waiting for an extended period of time inside before finding a table large enough for our group. We sat down at the table then we’re informed about the existence of a waitlist. This lack of clarity and mismanagement on Ernie's part significantly impacted the overall dining experience.
Ernie's management should prioritize effective communication and transparency to avoid similar incidents in the future. Clear signage or verbal communication about the waitlist should be implemented at the restaurant entrance to manage guests' expectations accurately. Additionally, the staff should be trained to proactively inform diners about the waitlist when they arrive, rather than leaving them to discover it through prolonged waiting.
Unfortunately, my personal experience fell short of expectations, despite the pleasant service provided by our waitress, Macy C. Macy's attentiveness and friendly demeanor were commendable despite the lackluster service from the...
Read moreI won’t be returning to Ernie’s on Gull Lake anytime in the foreseeable future—period. After following the “Please Seat Yourself” sign upon entry, I found a table on the patio and started to settle in to enjoy the beautiful view (which, let’s be honest, is the main reason anyone comes here—it’s certainly not for the food). Moments later, a server approached and loudly announced, while still a table away, that they were actually on a wait and someone else was waiting for the table I was sitting at. She suggested I go find a seat inside instead.
Meanwhile, another couple who walked out right before me also seated themselves on the patio without issue, just three tables down. The lack of discretion and clarity was frustrating and frankly, embarrassing. It’s already a vulnerable feeling dining alone—being publicly corrected like that made it worse. I felt foolish for simply following the instructions provided at the door.
Driving down the long, winding roads to get here only to be treated like a problem instead of a guest? Not worth it. If you’re on a wait, take down the “Seat Yourself” sign. Better yet—get your front-of-house communication sorted so your guests don’t feel humiliated for trying to follow directions. Do...
