The Rib House — Restaurant in East Haven

The shorter list would be the waitress was nice and attentive. Start with the appetizers, the crab cake looked like a fried chicken patty and tasted mushy, the fried mozzarella was burnt and bland. The bread for the table cornbread was mushy and ice cold.

My husband and I ordered a medium stake and beef ribs, the stake was well done and hardly warm and he had to put a lot of ketchup on it to give it any flavor, his sweet potato fries were clearly fried in the same oil as the crab cake as it tasted like fish. I got roughly 8 large ribs but at best 2 bites of meat the rest was inedible gristle and were luke warm at best.

Then we ordered for my father in-law take out of a pulled pork sandwich, as he describes it's not pulled pork more like grounded food and looked like cat food. Taste was indescribable and not in a good way.

The meal was WAY over priced for what we got, they seem to try to pull off a fine dinning establishment. If I'm gonna end up paying 100 for a meal I want a dang meal or at least EDABLE FOOD! When we talked and compared to Mc Donald and Taco bell as better food you know somethings wrong with this picture.

In the end don't go here, for any sort of food, your time and money is better spent any other establishment. If i could go half or 0...

The last time I ate at this place was 10+ years ago. I had nachos that were so loaded and delicious that they have lived in my memory as a place I need to go back to someday. And they had these huge racks to smoke the ribs. It was a serious operation.

So tonight I finally returned, to introduce my barbecue-loving husband to the joint. Well, I am sad to say that the smoking racks are long gone. They’re in a new location (new to me; they’ve been there for 7 years apparently) now. It is brighter, newer, and cleaner than I remember it from before. The service was super friendly and just great. But unfortunately the ribs were nothing special. And MOST UNFORTUNATELY, the nachos were totally unremarkable.

At least now that nagging voice telling me I need to go back there for the amazing nachos has been silenced forever. Those nachos are just a memory that will not be resurrected at...

Been there once, got delivery once. Great food both times. Servings are generous, prices are reasonable.

Pulled pork nachos — great plate but it doesn’t travel well for delivery.

St Louis ribs — great. Tender and great flavor.

Onion loaf — really good and didn’t get soggy on delivery.

Sweet potato fries — delicious even though they got soggy on the way.

But what’s with Grub Hub? We couldn’t get baby back ribs on the app. We called the restaurant but they said they couldn’t fix it. So I couldn’t get baby back ribs! I said that’s crazy. They said, call Grub Hub. Guys: I’m not spending my time to call Grub Hub to fix Your problem. I was going to fix My problem by calling Tolli’s for one of their amazing apizza’s. The Bride wanted ribs so you caught a break.
