I have enjoyed this restaurant many times, but this last visit was awful. First, the waitress taking our order made it clear we were not allowed to order appetizers with our entrees. This made no sense as I always order the same food in past visits. Second, not only was the waitress beyond rude, but she spilled salsa off the plate of nachos which spilled directly on my sweatshirt that I had hanging on the back of my chair as well as spilling sauce on my pants, shirt, and shoes. Third, most of our food was disgusting. There were 8 of us, and only 3 of those people were halfway satisfied with their meal. My brother in law ordered a porterhouse steak, and at least 80% was nothing but fat. When we told them about it, they said he ate too much of the steak, even though it was clear that there were only a few bites taken out. They threw out 80% of what they served him. They also took off only 6$ of a 20$ meal. By the time the rest of the food was served, we got to certain dishes such as lobster tails, which added up to 5 of them on the table, and they were all cold. Not just because they were sitting there for 5 minutes. They were ice cold. Some of the 6 ounce sirloin must have had some type of exposure to chemicals, because they tasted just like cleaning supplies smell. Not that I have purposely ate cleaners, but it was all I could think of because it smelled like it too. They tasted like straight up poison. We didn't want to complain anything to our server, because we just wanted to get away from there. However, on our way out, my sister felt bad as I was paying a 129$ bill, and apparently, her kids took some of the food home because they did not want me to feel bad about the entire experience. Later on, my sister told me she threw out the food shortly after after arriving home. As I was paying for the food, the cashier asked, "How was everything?". My sister at that point was so appalled, that she wanted to answer honestly how we truly all felt about our experience. She told them it was the worst experience she ever had there. Then she let the cashier know the food was ice cold, bad, tasted like poison, and that she was also upset about the porterhouse as well as the rudeness of our server. We mentioned how much food was spilled on my clothing, which has obviously stained my brand new pants as well as getting sauce on the sweatshirt that my dead father gave me, as he just passed away two months ago. When my sister told her these things, the cashier responded by saying, we already took 6 dollars off, when that was not what we were saying, because she had already taken the money from the bill. Just a simple apology and acting like you cared shows professional customer service, which is not the case here, because they obviously do not care about their customers, or their service. I know the country place is not the fanciest restaurant, and you do get what you pay for, but I did not go out to eat to be treated horribly, and not to throw out most of the food. My sister has always been an amazing mom, and she made sure every meal was finished, and not wasted. I have never seen my sister tell her kids to actually stop eating, because she taste tested their food to make sure they were not just acting spoiled, but she did at one point, demand they stop eating immediately and to box their food. I do not like to complain, as people work very hard, as we are all human, and nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes. I dont wish to get anyone in trouble, I just want mistakes to be learned from, and for no future customers to have to feel the way we...
Read moreWe chose this place for lunch after visiting peddlers village.
We were quickly greeted and seated. Our waitress, Paige, quickly greeted us with a smile and took our order when we were ready.
First impressions of the facility were that it was clean and well-maintained.
My wife had the deep fried pierogi's for an appetizer which she said were good. I had the chicken wings which were very good as well.
For our entrees, my wife had the crab cakes with pasta and alfredo. The crab cakes, which were deep-fried looked small and looked to be and tasted slightly overcooked. There was also a lot of filler in the crab cakes.
I had the filet, scallop and shrimp combo. I asked at the fillet be cooked medium well, which normally indicates an internal cooking temp/ serving temperature of about 155-160 degrees which would leave a slightly pink center. My filet was definitely overcooked. The scallops and shrimp were also overcooked and very crunchy/chewy.
We both had these salads which were very good and the coleslaw was also very good.
All of the food came out in a timely fashion and was hot. during our entire meal, no one ever came over to us to ask us if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. The check was brought to us without even asking us if we wanted dessert.
You pay for your check at the register which can be very confusing because there were several waitresses who were placing orders into the computer which is in the same area as the checkout register and this made it very congested.
Upon checkout, the lady who took our check never asked us how our meal was or if we enjoyed it, and never thanked us for coming. This is some of the most fundamental manners in the restaurant business.
Overall, the food was inexpensive but the portions were small and not well prepared and lacked appearance.

Read moreThe place has gone downhill in the past year or so. We’ve been customers for years, but will not be back after today. Waited 15 min to be seated for 2 people with the dining room practically empty (due to a perpetual staffing issue - it’s been like this every time we came in the past couple of years). Took forever to be waited on, and when the food finally came out, it was cold and the order was wrong. The waitress appeared to be new, so the mistakes would’ve been tolerable were it not for a “more experienced waitress” who was helping get the food out. When we told her that part of the order was wrong, she wouldn’t take it back or even ask us what was wrong - she became very agitated and extremely rude, basically forced the plate on us and said “that’s how she charged you, so I have to put this out.” No, you do not. Your responsibility as someone who is in customer service is to remain calm and polite, ask the customer what’s wrong and fix it - Customer Service 101. I was so agitated I wanted to get up and leave, right there and then. In my many years of eating out, I have never ever had a server say they were not going to take back the order that was wrong, and argue with me about it - in most places, that would be a fireable offense, but I’m guessing they are desperate. My husband was trying to dissolve the tension until he understood that she was implying the wrong order was ours to own - then he also said we were not paying for that. Eventually, it was figured out, but only to the extent that we didn’t pay for the wrong order. Not a single apology for the mess-up or for the “more experienced” waitress’s behavior. There was so much commotion and agitation at the table, somebody from management should’ve come out. But - I suspect there wasn’t any management personnel onsite, with the way things were run. It used to be a great neighborhood place, unfortunately...
