Much love to my hometown businesses. Dine-in or carry out menu items are available from the restaurant part or pick your own FRESH cut fish, frozen seafood and/or frog legs from the fresh market part and coming soon live entertainment on the back patio. Fresh fish can be order, killed and dressed, and cut per customers' requests. I'm pretty sure I was mistaken for a local, though I'm not. I was visiting from the Bluegrass State of Kentucky and my brother -in- law, Monroe (Too Tall) highly recommended this place. I spent about 50 minutes here, purchasing over $200 in fresh fish and two fish dinner plates at approx. $10 each from the restaurant part. For the most part, my experience was pleasurable. Their SET-UP is very CONFUSING, especially when directing NEW customers where to go for which service and even more confusing what to do with the ticket and where/who to pay. This next one must be an E. St. Louis thang I'm about to describe because I was taken aback. I thought I purchased whole catfishes because the tail was present, but when I unpacked the order I discovered this to be the scraps remaining from making catfish nuggets. I prepared these like usual cutting off the tail fins and it was okay. My fam referred to this as the "po man cuts." Next visit, I will definitely omit this cut from my order! I was not impressed. The guy counting orders/calling the shots, the buffalo fish butcher and male cash register associate can be quite theatrical and entertaining all at the same time. Yelling is their way of expression, so don't be offended when they direct this spontaneously at you. It's likely used as a deterrent to ward off riff raft. I highly recommend Maui Seafood for all your fish cravings and live entertainment.

"An Unforgettable Seafood Experience at Maui Seafood!" From the moment we stepped into Maui Seafood in East St. Louis, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism from the entire staff. Rod and Dorian were exceptionally helpful, guiding us through the menu with their expertise. Their recommendations were spot on! We decided on the 3 piece Jack Fish plate, 16 piece jumbo shrimp plate, 3 piece Buffalo Fish, and a side of okra. Each dish was a culinary delight, with flavors that were ethically and masterfully seasoned. The taste was simply superb, creating a memorable dining experience for us.What sets Maui Seafood apart is not just their delicious food, but also their unique offering of live fish. They provide a selection for customers to take home and cook, which is a fantastic option for seafood enthusiasts.Overall, our visit to Maui Seafood was nothing short of amazing. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for a top-notch seafood experience. Highly recommended!

What a hidden gem of a restaurant and market, this is my first time here and let me say that the place is clean and the food is excellent. I’m trying the buffalo fish plate and it’s great, so if you’re craving some seafood then check this place out . My rating is =9 out of 10 💪🏾💯

Will never, EVER return again!! The nasty attitude begins at the head(Owner)and has spread to the employees. I guess having a nasty attitude and terrible customer service skills are a qualification to be hired here! I gave this establishment the benefit of the doubt, being it’s black owned and 1 of the only to sell fresh fish! Sad to say, I would rather patronize the Arabs or go to Schnucks! Of the few times I’ve TRIED to patronize this place, I’ve probably had 1 positive experience. The food always tastes different because there’s always a different cook. The fat lady that works in there is the nastiest, most miserable person I’ve ever encountered! The cook was handling raw fish, writing down orders, and answering the phone with the SAME gloves on! NEVER gotta worry abt me patronizing...
