Last night a party of 8 went to have dinner. From the time we entered the establishment it was full we had made a 6:30 reservation when we got there to check in our table was taken by another reservation that was late. So we had to go to the bar for about 35 40 mins. The bar is small outside so with a party of 8 we were standing and in the way of the wait staff, Coming and going 1 of our guys were acting as a door person opening and closing the doors for the wait staff. The weman were at the bar the men had to stand against the wall due to the space. Once our table was ready our table was to small for our party of 8 we sat down it was very tight. We asked for another table to extend the table for space we were denied they said it's full and we don't have any more tables. So we're like ok so we look over and another table of 8 was right next to us they requested a table and there's was brought right out.. so we're like wow . So we waited and they were able to bring us another table. I really hate to put racial profiling but it was bright as day my table with 3 black couples and 1 mix couple the the other table was all white couple's. And they said that was not there intention. We were celebrating a birthday so the mix couple the birthday girl mentioned it to the wait staff this is a very bad look.and were not happy. We were not looking for a free meal we were just out for dinner. All the males at our table were all service members from different branches one marine 2 Army soldiers and one airforce member. In total with all of us šŗšø we served a total of 56 years of service combined were humble serants to this nation and this was what we had to endure.and I know our military status had no effect on how we were treated. From that point the rest of the evening was difficult to enjoy we made joke about it to make the best out of the situation but their was still a negitive vibe around the table. The owner came to the table to do damage control and to apologize. We spoke to the owner she put it on the kitchen staff saying there a little back up the kitchen had nothing to do with the situation now she redirect it towards the kitchen which was low but I guess that the way she handles situation like this. I been working in food service for many years front of the house and back of the house I'm a certified chef in the Army with multiple accommodations so I understand when it's the kitchen fault or the front of the house when issues happen. We all paid our bills and left I had a conversation with the hostes and she understood what had happened and was deeply sorry. The bad thing is we like coming here this was our third visit here and the experience is always good I guess it just wasn't our day at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Tavern on the Hill, a local barbecue restaurant that exceeded all my expectations. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the restaurant also boasts a beautiful view overlooking rolling hills, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
The menu at Tavern on the Hill is a barbecue lover's paradise. I decided to try the brisket and pulled pork, while my dining companion opted for the Mexican corn salad. Both dishes were nothing short of spectacular.
The brisket was tender, juicy, and full of smoky flavor. The pulled pork was equally impressive, with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavors that left me wanting more. The Mexican corn salad was a refreshing and zesty side dish that perfectly complemented the rich, hearty meats.
But what really set Tavern on the Hill apart was their barbecue sauce. It was a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy, and it elevated the already delicious meats to a whole new level. I found myself savoring every bite, and even asked for an extra serving of the sauce!
Our server was incredibly pleasant and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. She was quick to refill our drinks, offer suggestions, and check in on us without being intrusive.
Tavern on the Hill is a must-visit for any barbecue enthusiast. The combination of delicious food, breathtaking views, and excellent service makes it a standout in the local dining scene. Whether you're a barbecue aficionado or just someone who appreciates good food and beautiful scenery, I highly recommend Tavern...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: 12/19/24 After having business in the area, I came here to my favorite spot to eat and was thrilled that my favorite plates were available for ordering. The Equinox Salad and Mussels are my two favorite dishes here and was extremely pleased to not have to drive to Northampton, to get quality food. With an updated review, the food is and has remained 5-star quality. The mussels are the BEST in western mass.
Every time Iām in town, this has always been the best place to come to with delicious dining options without having to drive to Northampton for finer dining that isnāt commercialized . Tavern On the Hill was excellent prior to recently changing the menu and now only serving BBQ. When we walked in, the staff was not as attentive or welcoming and it was all young kids who lacked hospitality skills. We were seated in the lower dining area for roughly 10 minutes without being acknowledged and it wasnāt busy. After being provided menus, we realized everything we usually ordered every time we are here was removed from the menu and in shock because we donāt care for BBQ. The French Onion Soup, Thai Mussels, the Pear & Vanilla Vinaigrette salad and the Jumbalaya were the best here and my favorite most flavorful items. We ended up getting up from our table after deciding we were going to go somewhere else for dinner and then proceeded to sit at the bar. Iāve never waited so long to be asked if I wanted anything to drink here and a full 35mins later we finally had a cocktail, cashed out and left. It was not the same. Cocktail was...
