The meat is delicious! Definitely could look prettier! I love the prices, and will be back. This food is much better than other food in the area. I wish it specifically said restaurant on google instead of meat market. I've seen an older crowd in there. I would like the young lady waitresses to wear some jeans instead of cut off shorts-kinda killed my appetite. The loaded potatoes were yummy. The salad bar is cute and filling. The majority of the snacks and drinks are local and I can support that 100% A big thank you to the owner for keeping the business so authentic. This place was a little hard to find without talking to the locals. Our server was kind and clearly hard working. The menu is big and a little overwhelming but our server pointed out the most popular meal and quickly-effectively guided us to our perfect dinner. There are so many cigarette buds outside and that kills some of the appeal. I can not wait to see this place expand, improve, advertise, all while keeping the same quality. From what I saw they do not offer beer-wine-liquor. They have a wide variety of unique sodas for you to try while you wait for your food to come out. (You'd have to buy each soda separately) We took a cake to go and it was absolutely amazing! I will not be adding any photos at this time. If I find a good place to take a picture. I will edit this post. Thank you again for a...

If you’ve never been to Mae’s Meat Market & Cafe, you’re missing out. We first stopped in a couple of months ago while passing through and fell in love. I had the Monte Cristo, my husband had the Reuben, and both were amazing. We also grabbed some of their in house seasonings to take home and now we are already ready for refills because they are just that good.

Today we finally got to stop in again. I went for The Piggytails, which are strips of pork loin breaded and fried like chicken fried steak, and my husband ordered the Texas Club. The Piggytails were so tender I do not think I will ever want regular chicken fried steak again. The Texas Club was loaded with delicious ingredients and tasted just as good as it looked.

The food is fantastic, the service is friendly, and the quality never disappoints. Mae’s has definitely become one of our must-stop spots whenever we are...

We absolutely loved the food and service at this little gem of a restaurant! We were served by one of the owners and the other owner came around to everyone and offered a sample of one of their desserts. You must know I am a very particular cook myself that came with an entire family of people that are also particular because we all can cook and expect some good cooking. We had a large group of 9 with 5 kids and were seated immediately. She got our orders right. The bills were split correctly. She spoke to the kids and even they loved her. I ate the chicken fried steak Mae's way with white gravy. It was amazing and clearly fresh steak. The fried okra was definitely not out of a bag. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you are passing through or in the area, make sure to stop by. We ate there after hiking the Old Zoo Hiking Trail in Cisco. We all...

Took a detour to #EastlandTX and discovered a hidden gem: Mae’s Meat Market and Cafe! 🍽️ This family-owned spot is tucked away behind buildings and down a dirt road, but trust me—it’s worth the hunt. I ordered their famous steak fingers with onion rings and fried okra, and every bite was Southern comfort at its best. 🥩🍴 Plus, I couldn’t resist grabbing a t-shirt with their iconic slogan: PETA: People Eating Tasty Animals If you’re heading toward West Texas, make sure Mae’s is on your map. You won’t regret it! #EastlandTX #SteakFingers #ChickenFriedSteak #SouthernEats #HiddenGem #TexasEats #ComfortFood #RoadTripEats #FamilyOwned #SupportLocal #MeatLovers #FriedOkra #OnionRings #SmallTownEats #TexasFoodie #FoodieFinds #TravelEats #SouthernCooking #TexasCafe #OffTheBeatenPath #DiscoverTexas #Foodstagram #YummyEats #WestTexasRoadTrip #roadsideeats @douglasgowland

Hidden gem alert yooo!!! Made a pit stop on the way to Dallas for lunch and I was surprised wonderfully ☺️. Great service and hospitality and the vibe was amazing. I ordered the 6oz Sirloin steak...OMG it was one of the best steak I had so far and hands down the best cut of Sirloin I ever had. Perfectly made, tender, Juicy and the flavor was just on point. I tried the bacon wrapped asparagus for the first time and was blown away 😋. You can also buy fresh cut of meat, seasonings, home made beef jerky, sausage, cheese....and many more. Its a great family run business. Will be back and definitely recommend 👌 💯.
