On the Square Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Eden

Ok, so this morning, my son and I we're traveling and came across this bakery. It is in a non-descript red brick building. I wasn't even sure it was in business until I drove around the building. We went in and it smelled SOOO unfathomably delicious! We bought lemon cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and brownie bites (the package was still warm because they had just left the oven).

We drove off but tried a bite of the lemon cookie. That's when we discovered our mistake. We immediately turned around and went back before we made it to the stop sign. The mistake was this, we didn't buy nearly enough of the cookies. We went back in and made the folks inside laugh when we told them our problem. We proceeded to buy more cookies and brownies before leaving.

We were having a funeral for my in-laws with about 40 people attending. We wanted a place we could all go to visit after the services because none of us were from Eden or Brady. My husband and I went to the bakery to ask about them renting the building and serving some of their baked goods. The bakery normally closes at 1:00pm but the owners were the most accommodating people and said they would be happy to stay open a little longer for us!! They had baked their delicious cookies and had water and tea waiting for us when we arrived! Some of the family ordered sandwiches and said they were great! I think we bought just about all of their baked goods that were on the shelves!!! Everything was perfect!!! I think God put us together for a reason!!!! Thank you for such hospitality! We stopped at this tiny bakery on a cross country road trip. It was literally some of the best food we had the entire drive. We had the green chile amd bacon quiche, egg salad sandwich and bread and jam for our picky eater. We walked away with an apricot pie and bottle of homemade jelly. The food was all homemade and amazing. I cant even pick a favorite part. The owner was a delight to talk to as was the gal behind the counter. We loved hearing the process for making the jelly and for just some down home cooking and good conversation. I would move to this town if only to eat at this...
