IHOP — Restaurant in Effingham

Honestly some of the worst service I have ever had! This is only the second time I have been to this ihop, first time was shortly after this location opened..and I am still not impressed. We were seated fairly quickly, but waited 20ish minutes for someone to even come to the table to get our drink order and then waiting another 10 for the drinks. Granted we asked for milkshakes, but there's no way they take that long to make! Also, they brought out my milkshake on a plate because it was spilling all down the side of the cup! Why not just wipe off the cup before bringing it out?? We finally get to place our order and waited 30-40 minutes before even receiving our food..cold mind you.. just for them to forget to ring my daughters food in and blame it on the system not getting the order back. We were told it would be 5 minutes for the 4 French toast sticks, a thing of syrup, and applesauce..fine..whatever. We didnt end up getting that until 20 minutes later when we finally asked for it to be boxed up since we were tired of waiting and asked for our receipt. Holy cow! You'd be better off going to Denny's across town for half the price, better food, and excellent service! Do not even waste your time coming here because you will spend wayyyy too much time waiting for below par food and...

2 stars because the food was good and Mom enjoyed it. We got sat on the side with a great view of the kitchen/order up window. Mozzarella sticks ok, but salty. Saw our order up over 7 minutes. During this time after asking waitress if that was our order, she said they don't like us to take them out early. Next time I asked she said other folks order my same dish. A few minutes later she said she would check on it. It was our order, just waiting for the side of 3 pancakes, said they had a new cook. Wait on pancakes at IHOP??? Food was delivered but still waited a few more minutes for our 3 pancakes, but only receiving 2. During this time of watching our food in the warmer, another waitress asked the cook if he was from St. Louis. He said no and that she was wanting to see if she could make her “arch”. This continued with occasional “f bombs”, and purposeful gagging sounds, all within 2 feet of our food. Ya’ll need a better manager or a parent to help you grow up. Waitresses have bad attitudes and take too long to seat customers.

I ordered the jalapeno burger and two orders of fries, and a coffee.

I got my coffee and it tasted like chemicals/bad.

I got the food, and I immediately saw the truth of the bad reviews describing the burgers as greasy. I squeezed it and grease fell on the plate, forming a puddle.

I took one bite of the burger and tasted chemicals, and bitterness. I spit it out and got a refund, then left.

The fries were the only normal tasting thing there, but their ketchup also tasted off.

Even after I left my tongue has a bitter residue on it, and I can still taste the awful chemical taste.

Message to management: You need to clean house and get rid of the employees that are destroying the business, especially your cooks.

You wouldn’t cook food like that for yourself, so make the necessary changes, from the waitresses who ignore customers, to the cooks who don’t clean the kitchens properly, and...
