I wish that I didn't have to do this, but this Jimmy's Egg has really changed. I will leave my original review because, with alot of changes, the restaurant could get there again, but, this place has really gone down hill fast. The management has changed and apparently their coffee vendor has as well. The coffee is bitter, the music is loud and obnoxious (talking is nerve wracking) and the food is bland and takes a long time to get the order. I have been there semi-religiously since the store opened, but I will not return until some things change.
What it should say* My experiences at the ElDorado KS Jimmy's Egg have consistently been great. My wife and I have both been in the food industry and appreciate the service that we receive and attempt to show our gratitude each time we receive outstanding service. Recently, our wonderful waitress, Chasity, introduced us to a wonderful piece of pie and we really hoped that the pie would be an ongoing menu item. The pies were made by a local entrepreneur and very tasty. I asked Chasity, the first time going to Jimmy's Egg, if they had pie on the menu. At that time, the answer was "No." They do have a cinnamon roll on the menu and, for being a cinnamon roll, it definately hold's it's own in taste and presentation; but it's not pie. I was very pleased to have the pie as a respite to eating a full fledged meal. At times, pie and coffee would suffice. The coffee, in case you don't know, is very good and worth stopping by on a cold morning. The menu is varied and I can get a lunch style meal at breakfast or breakfast later. The "BLT sandwich" and "Chicken & Waffles" are fantastic. The "Hog Wild" dish is very good having several different styles of pork. The "Cuban sandwich" and "Two Meat" breakfast combo features eggs, numerous country style sides, two meat types like bacon, ham or sausage (turkey patties, links or hot link). Cover it with biscuits and gravy with a side of pancakes & you're looking at a GREAT day. There is also the lighter side like cottage cheese, yogurt, fruit & dry toast. 🤔 I had a waitress take a photo of my wife & I with Chasity. I am CHALLENGING YOU,👉👈 to remember a great person at a restaurant you eat at and take a picture🤳with them and post it with your review. They deserve the recognition. Last, but not least, get the app and receive...
Read moreI came here with coworkers for breakfast before an in-service. When I got there a little after 6:30 there were a few who were already seated, waiting for the rest. By the time everyone arrived and we ordered it was almost 7 am. We had a larger group of about 15 people and around 7:30 someone asked how soon or food would be out. We were told our food would be started soon since there were only about two tickets in front of it. We were surprised since the restaurant didn't have many other tables of people. Our in-service started at 8 am so some tension arose. Our food came out ten minutes til 8 and we quickly ate, paid and left. I got queso blanco burrito with a side of sliced tomatoes. Overall it tasted good but the burrito was a bit cool. I don't blame the waitress. I saw the kitchen and noticed only two cooks so they were likely short handed. I'd like to give it another try on a weekend where they'd likely have more staff...
Read moreTraveling through we needed a sit down place that could possibly cater to our daughter's gluten allergies as she has Celiac Disease. They came through astoundingly! Bekah was our waitress and while she admitted to not being knowledgeable on gluten she happily got the manager. Both the manager, Laynie and Bekah came back to our table. Laynie explained that they could absolutely accommodate our needs. She knew exactly what needed to be done (changing of gloves, new utensils, cleaning griddle, etc.). In addition, service was prompt, food was great, and everyone there was extremely friendly! A great place to check out whether you are local to El Dorado or just making a stop while traveling through. I hope we have the opportunity to...
