This place has so much potential but falls very far short on customer service. They have a large menu with many great items and a good beer selection. They have the market share of entertainment including many popular bands and recently hosted drag queen bingo which is very popular in Royal Oak. We have ordered drinks there several times to find them come out in plastic cups. When asked why I can't have an adult container made of something that needs to be washed, we were told that "there are a lot of fights here and they can get thrown at people." I still don't understand that answer, but apparently some patrons have thrown shot glasses at other people during a fight...who knows. My reluctance to give more stars for this review has to do with service. As a resident of Lapeer, we have many options when it comes to dining out. That being said, I've had numerous bad experiences with the wait staff that always keeps us from choosing Side Tracks for dinner or entertainment (or both). We are very easy to get along with as guests, but nobody is as lucky as us when it comes to bad service. Example: My wife and I attended a Stranger Things themed trivia fund raiser at Side Track last week, we attended as a way to show support for the event, not necessarily for the restaurant. Our server was barely at our table. When food was dropped off, we were left with no silverware, ketchup or mustard, and empty drinks. I had to go in search of the first few items and reluctantly shared the water that was left between the two of us as our cocktails were empty. This may seem petty, but we don't mind paying extra for good service, that's why we go out instead of cooking for ourselves some nights. That last dining experience reinforced our previous reservations about dining at Side...
Read moreI stopped going here years ago because the portions are skimpy and the prices high. Then recently I saw they claimed theyâre under new management/or ownership so I decided to try them again. Within minutes I noticed itâs the SAME owner walking around so I was worried. Ofc my worries were founded. Ordered the potato soup and was asked if I wanted the trimmings: cheese, bacon, scallions. When the bill came each trimming was $1 each so a $4 CUP of soup became $7 for few sprinkles of bacon and a couple shreds of cheese and two or three scallion pieces. đđđđđđ I should have sent it back but whatever. Overall our meals were SMALL and overpriced again, nothing has changed. They give you barely any fries-like 5-10 with a burger. I wonât be back. Skip this place and go to Lake Inn where they understand portion sizes matter to most people who choose to spend money going out to eat and they donât charge extra for what should already come on potato soup.
Look at the RUDE OWNERS response to another poor review! 12 fries is sufficient?! Youâre clearly not pleasing people with your minuscule portions and rather than I donât know, CHANGE THINGS, you double down and argue with customers and tell them they should be happy with 12 fries! đđ¤Śđźââď¸ UNREAL!
âHealthy portionsâ?!! It isnât the role of your restaurant to decide for me what a âhealthy portionâ is or force your concept or a âhealthy portionâ on me. It is your role to leave me a happy and satisfied customer! Which you have failed multiple times at doing! Therefore I wonât be back! And lastly you donât BILL Side Tracks as a âhealthyâ restaurant so stop using this as an EXCUSE and just stop...
Read moreFirst time visiting here. Made a reservation, which didn't have issues doing. Service was OK. A friend in our party ordered a strawberry daiquiri and told the waitress it didn't taste like strawberry and she said she didn't want it. I tasted it to see if I could taste strawberry and it tasted like extremely watered down strawberry flavoring added to a sparkling water. I told the waitress it didn't taste good at all, like it was watered down with no alcohol in it, and it was almost as if we were in the wrong for stating the drink was not good. The waitress was persistent that it was indeed a strawberry daiquiri; no offering to make a new one or check with the bartender to ensure this was what was ordered.
Our group of 10 ordered food at the same time, our food came out in separate sets of 3. My 3 year old sons food came out first but his side order of macaroni and cheese came out as part of the last set of dishes. The reasoning for the food being served at separate times was the workers in the back were having a hard time keeping track of orders with large groups of people visiting their restaurant.
Food quality: less than appealing. I ordered a cheeseburger which was rather dry. The side of onion rings were good; thick and crispy. The other people in our group didn't seem to enjoy their food quality either.
The best part of my visit was the cheese bread appetizer. Atmosphere was pleasant though!
I will likely...
