Go for the sunsets, bc thats what ur paying for when you go. They are beautiful, the restaurant is perfect for capturing some great pics! The atmosphere is open air, very beach attire casual, which I love, but bring your shades, the sun can be a little brutal especially if there is no breeze. We were lucky & it was very breezy, & our waitress Stephanie was awesome! They have a wide selection of fruity coctails, but are not my speed but I got to try a new sweet tea vodka drink that was literally like drinking regualr sweet tea amd i loved it! But thats where the 3 stars end. My husband & I shared the fried crab claws & they were good, but tasted like everywhere else, w/ the exception of their take on tarter sauce. It was yummy & I don't like tartar normally. But the dinner entrees were slim choices but I ended up going w/ the fried grouper dinner & the only 2 sides I liked from our choices were fries & hushpuppies, which ur probably asking what's the big deal. We'll my dinner was around $28, just the entree, but that didn't bother me until I took a bite of the Fish. It was crispy & cooked perfect, but was the blandest piece of fish I think I have ever had...ever!! Most places & myself at home included, season our dredge that ur coating the Fish in, but this had NOTHING. Not even a hint of salt or anything. I had to bring it home & season it myself & reheat it which made it much better. But for the price, so not worth it for me. My husband said his fried shrimp were great & they looked good & so we're hisbfried oysters. He said the grits were way too thick tho. Finally their menu says ask about their cakes & pies so we did. We went w/ a slice of plain cheese cake & a slice of blueberry cheesecake to go & there was a huge difference between the two. The plain was wonderful! Think big slice & also a thick crust which I love! The we opened the blueberry & it looked like something someone tried to make for the first time, & it didn't turn out right but said let's sell it anyway. It was purple, so not a blueberry topping, it's in the filling, & was very thin. I think a jello no bake cheesecake u make at home is thicker than what this was & when u picked up both Togo containers it felt like one had 2 pieces of cake & the other had one. My poor hubby was so sad that he ordered the blueberry when he saw what I got. But don't worry I shared mine. So the flavor of the puny one was meh, especially after eating the first amazing cheesecake, so i hope thats a fluke since they change them up monthly from what the menu said. So that's my take on this place, go for atmosphere, drinks & apps, & sunsets, bc they are all worth the price, but for me no more dinners or I will go broke & still be hungry lol.

Ah, Sunset Grill, where the sun sets beautifully and so did some of my expectations! Nestled in a charming marina on the sound side, this spot is a haven for boat enthusiasts, offering restaurant access right from the docks. The location is nothing short of breathtaking. Watching the sunset while munching on some tasty pork-skins was a real treat. The atmosphere is serene and family-friendly, perfect for an outing. If only the food and service consistently matched the view! Now, let’s talk about our server. Imagine a reality show where nonchalance and rudeness were prized qualities—she would win hands down. Non-attentive and somewhat rude, she seemed to be in her own world. She didn’t really act like she knew the menu, which was puzzling since it seemed like she’d worked there for a while. She also treated her coworkers with a noticeable lack of respect, creating a rather awkward dining experience. It felt like she was off in a different dimension, perhaps on another planet. The food? A mixed bag. My shrimp dinner was a highlight—the shrimp was delicious, though the fries and hush puppies left room for improvement. The pork-skins were a pleasant surprise, and one family member’s late order of scallops was pretty good. However, other family members weren’t as lucky. Their scallops were overcooked and had clearly been sitting out for a while before being brought to the table. Another family member enjoyed the blackened shrimp Po'boy, which was a solid choice, while the Philly cheesesteak was mediocre at best. It felt like playing a game of culinary roulette. The management, embodied by an elderly man who seemed to be glued to the dining room and kitchen, was more focused on chatting with regulars and keeping an eye on his employees rather than checking on customers. Granted, it was extremely busy, but a little more customer interaction wouldn’t have hurt. He seemed like a friendly ghost, always present but never quite there for the guests. Despite the service hiccup, the rest of the staff were fantastic. They managed to keep things running smoothly and were incredibly friendly and attentive. Sunset Grill has potential, and I’ll definitely give it another shot when it’s not quite as busy. Here’s to hoping for a more consistent experience next time!

Lunch for the first time at Sunset Grille. Located on the water with several boat slips for parking. While having lunch, my partner and I watched two boats leave and another one dock. Marginally a little out of the way, but a beautiful location that I suspect would be amazing during sunset. Parking was a little challenging since it was pretty packed. A small walk was needed to get to the entrance. Lots of construction occurring, so it seemed like half of the outdoor seating was available. The service was fine. The waitress was friendly and helpful, but refills for my partners water was sparse. I ordered a Mahi blackened dinner plate, with onion rings and cucumber salad. Took a picture only after I ate some of it. Sorry for that, dear reader. The food was very good considering the upcharge posted for using a credit card to pay. I also got a bushwacker, and it was solid, too. In addition to the water, my partner got a BLT with fries and consumed most of it, no leftover to take away. You are given a gift with a ticket that also offers 10% off in the gift shop. No shits though for anyone larger than 3X, so a postcard was our souvenir. I'll definitely be back to dine at sunset someday. Bringing cash would also be a good choice as 100% if not more of the merchant surcharges is passed directly to you, the consumer like a tariff.

Kind of a long story, but oh well, this was our experience. I hope at least the staff gets to see it or the owners
. We pulled into the area as our vacation destination this afternoon after a 6 hour drive and chose the first spot that we saw on our Google maps for some food. We showed up and were sat at a table in full sun and had an infant with us, so after about a couple minutes we had decided we would prefer sitting at a table that had at least a spot for the baby to sit in shade. After asking the hostess she said we could move to a new table that was in shade, but it when we moved we noticed it would only hold 4 people, when we had 6 people. So that wouldn’t work
& there were a good amount of larger tables that would be more suited and one was right in the same area, so we moved over to a table right next that would work better. Unfortunately that really seemed to upset our waitress Janice quite a bit. She turned very rude and said someone else would be our new server and was rude when she put drinks down on the table and rolled her eyes and shook her head at the next server. Well that was kinda a bummer as we are here visiting as tourists, newbies, trying to get a first real meal of the day and excited to be there. It stinks to have a sour first impression. Especially while on vacation. Luckily our waitress Shannon who was “stuck with us” was totally AWESOME! She was so friendly and patient and was good at her job. She had great recommendations on the food and even suggested a better deal by getting a pitcher of beer rather than 4 single beers. She shared with us real conversation rather than just all business trying to drop off stuff and move on to the next. We were happy to have a warm and kind server and I hope Shannon knows she’s doing a great job and is right where she should be helping us hungry tourists out and covering the others short comings. I also want to mention that the food came out very fast and tasted great and all the support staff like table bussers and food runners were great and working hard together. I would recommend the restaurant. Thanks...
