NAPOLIS ITALIAN BISTRO — Restaurant in Elgin

Only weird tasting 2 meduim meatballs, tossed in sauce spaghetti. Not a dollop of sauce even on top. No seasonings really. The "bread" is just the pizza dough not good dough, no flavor. Raviolis, lasagne, red sauce sucked, chicken with "cream" sauce watery. All wanting more flavor, we all agree. Had their pizza last time, again 4 of us left unsatisfied. I've never had such crappy Italian Food from a restraunt. If you can't even get the sauce right your screwed to start with. Nastiest meatball to ever put my palate through, one bite and No! Ugh. And this place just changed hands. There are a couple others in different towns. Not sure if they all use the same recipes. Needless to say if you have a palate, go somewhere else. No palate, well seems your not alone, enjoy. We however will not be wasting money on mediocre food here again....

Don't get me wrong - this place has potential, but the ownership should steer clear of the Ben E Keith and Sysco frozen fish. I think revisiting purveyors would be massively beneficial. The bread tasted like it sat unwrapped in a fridge for too long, and the calamari was rubbery with soggy breading (a sign that it was cooked too long in oil that wasn't hot enough). The waitstaff aren't well-versed in service but are very sweet. I noticed a woman running the expo with a baby, without washing her hands between handling the baby and customer orders, which is what locks in the whole experience at two stars. On the positive side, the meal was fairly inexpensive, but I would pay more for decent...

Absolutely amazing experience! I had dinner at Napolis Italian Bistro last night and it was perfect from start to finish. The food tasted incredibly fresh — you can really tell everything is made with love and authentic Italian ingredients. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the tiramisu was probably the best I’ve ever had.

The staff were super friendly and attentive without being pushy. The atmosphere was cozy, warm, and felt like a real family-owned spot in Italy. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommend this place to anyone who loves real...
