The restaurant was extremely overcrowded you could not hold a conversation without talking loud . You were touching back-to-back on tables when sitting down on a chair . My wife ordered biscuits and gravy they came out first but were cold. Had to return. my Swiss cheeseburger came out with American cheese I told waitress she stated yeah it did not look right when she picked it up from the grill So why wouldn't you double check what was ordered before handing it to the customer. She took my cheeseburger and said she would be back in 2 minutes she was back in a minute they scraped the American cheese off put 2 slices of Swiss cheese threw it under the heat lamp the cheese did not even fully melt. The bus boys who also removed silverware and plates were serving water and coffee they were on top of everything very very good. If you were a handicapped person and any sort with crutches Walker or wheelchair don't even bother cause there is nowhere to go to sit inside it is totally handicap unaccessible Response to the owner of rays. I would like to know with your response To my review why you did not address the fact of cold food wrong cheese on my burger in returning within 1 minute we're Most restaurants would give you a brand newburger not scrape cheese off. The fact of McDonald's I joked with your waitress cause I was waiting outside because where I was standing was in the way of your weight staff coming in and out of the kitchen area. My wife had asked me where I was and I smiled and joked at McDonald's ha ha. I like how there was no response of overcrowding and there was no way a person with crutches Walker or wheelchair would have been able to get into that restaurant cause to get out you had to walk sideways between tables and chairs. When you're weights staff asked my wife and her girlfriend about the service I was not there I was getting the car my wife did not say anything about great maybe her girlfriend might have and they were not offered lallipops . Going back to me asking questions about my bill there was 2 items on that bill they had dollar amounts but no explanation of what they were for. So like I ask of you please next time address every item that's there and make sure what you Talk about is correct into the fullest...
Read moreRay's family restaurant isn't a modern, hip brunch place for foodie hipsters to get their avocado toast. It is a small diner with outdated decor with a standard breakfast and lunch menu. That may sound negative, but I mean it in the most positive way. The outdated decor is homey, almost like having breakfast at a older relatives house. It has that family restaurant feel, like walking into a small town restaurant. It's charming and unpretentious.
Upon entering on a busy Sunday morning, with people waiting for tables and breakfast in full swing, with a handshake and a friendly greeting by the manger. I'm not even exaggerating for effect either. The service was friendly and quick, and our waitress was very polite and even made a bit of small talk in spite of how busy it was. The manger even came by after our meal before we paid to see how everything was and talked to us like we were regulars even though it was our first visit. I felt very welcomed and comfortable.
The food was as expected; no frills or bells and whistles, just well cooked and fairly quickly delivered despite how busy it was. We both ordered breakfasts and both enjoyed our meals. Our over easy eggs were perfectly cooked and the hashed browns were crispy. The pancakes were excellent. My skillet was a little heavy handed on the cheese, but that is a personal preference thing in my opinion. Portion size was good too, what I assumed it would be.
Overall a very good experience from the food to the service. I would definitely recommend Ray's for a no nonsense diner breakfast to anyone who asked me, and we will definitely be returning because this was just an excellent dining experience. I really appreciate when a restaurants staff makes that little extra effort to make me feel at home and take...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Ray's Diner for breakfast, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The warm and inviting ambiance, coupled with friendly and attentive service, set the stage for a memorable morning.
One dish that truly stood out was the chilaquiles. Served steaming hot, these traditional Mexican breakfast nachos were an absolute delight for the taste buds. The crispy tortilla chips were smothered in a tangy and flavorsome salsa, perfectly complemented by the melted cheese and a touch of creamy sour cream. The addition of tender shreds of chicken or perfectly cooked eggs added an extra layer of satisfaction. Each bite was a symphony of textures and flavors, providing a harmonious blend of spice and comfort.
The portion size was generous, ensuring that every hungry stomach was satisfied. The balance of ingredients was well-executed, creating a dish that was both hearty and satisfying. The presentation was simple yet appealing, allowing the vibrant colors and aromatic aromas to speak for themselves.
Though the chilaquiles stole the show, it is worth mentioning that Ray's Diner offers a diverse breakfast menu, catering to a wide range of preferences. From classic favorites like pancakes and omelets to healthier options like avocado toast, there is something for everyone. In conclusion, if you find yourself in need of a flavorful breakfast to start your day, Ray's Diner is definitely worth a visit. Their chilaquiles, in particular, are a standout dish that will leave you craving more. With its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, this diner is a hidden gem for...
