Worst experience I have ever had in a McDonald's, facing a really hard day near this one by a county courthouse and stopped in to get a quick bite since it's right near by. I have one injured hand that's in a very large black brace. First I had to explain how to give change to the guy working the counter then when I had finished putting my change away he handed me an empty cup and I said what am I supposed to do with this and he said it's to the left and then pointed to my right. There was no visible signage and nothing clearly seen this is a McDonald's in a gas station and you could not see anywhere to get the drinks it is hidden in a corner basically. Not to mention when I finally found it it required the use of two hands to get ice. I pointed this out to one of the people up front and the lady apologized but told me that's just how they do it at the kiosk. I'm sorry but that's just basic customer service to note and injured person and offer to help, they had a full sweet tea container right behind them, I watched them fill it for people at the drive-thru. I didn't even know this McDonald's had a drive-thru frankly because like I said it's in a gas station. But they do have the option to pour your drinks for you. I used to work at a McDonald's nearby and this is by far not Standard customer service period I'm also a chef and have worked at many many restaurants both fast food casual fine dining and otherwise. Now I see why McDonald's everywhere are losing money because if this is the quality of employees they are hiring then they need a new strategy. Also the biscuit was undone and the sandwich was not put together correctly so if the bad customer service wasn't enough their food isn't even worth it. The sweet tea was okay and that's about all I can say but sweet tea is sweet tea I'd really have said something if the tea was bad. I have a picture I will post later but there was also something brown and unidentifiable in my biscuit and my biscuit was egg and cheese with extra cheese there was no meat in...
Read moreI'll preface this by saying that I absolutely know better. I needed gas, though, and food is food after you've been up and working since 5am.
The McShell never ceases to disappoint. Freshly remodeled, couldn't have been back on its feet for more than a week.
Walk by the menu kiosk (yeah, I didn't even think about it as I approached the counter. Aging is a curse) and get to the counter and notice that there's no menu behind the kid on the till. Asked if I should place the order at the kiosk and the kid informed me that I would need to look at the menu on the kiosk and place the order with him.
No problem.
Place my order, large. Get handed my cup and was told sweet tea should be right around the corner. It was. Want to know what wasn't there?
Straws and large lids.
No worries, I'll request it at the counter and bring the OOS items to their attention. It IS wrapped around the corner and out of sight. I get back to the counter and let him know and he informs me that there are no large lids, or straws, anywhere in the restaurant. Makes me curious about how they were handling drive-thru orders but whatever. I look at him kind of confused, I look at my cup, and all I can manage is a "Man, I wish you had said something while I was ordering," he apologizes again.
No worries, dude. I get it.
I take my food, pump my gas, and get on the road. The icing on this cake? I was absolutely charged for a large meal and received a medium fry. I'm on the road, it's the worst fast food spot in the county, and I'm not turning around for an extra 4oz (if that) of fries. Honestly the fry thing probably wouldn't have registered had I not already been bitterly disappointed about not being able to conveniently enjoy my beverage while driving.
Steer clear of the McShell unless you're hard...
Read moreI came this McDonald’s after stopping with my camper outside because it’s too tall so I couldn’t use the drive through. but came inside when I found out dining was closed... which is weird because everywhere else is reopen. So I decided that I would have to stand outside in the drive through because this is the few spots on this road that has a place to eat where you can park your truck and camper. Even how weird it was standing in a drive through without a car I didn’t really care, I just wanted to get my food and leave. The line took a long time which wasn’t convenient but when I finally got up to the ordering spot I waited for like 5 minutes and then someone finally said oh yeah our protocol requires you to be in a vehicle to be served. This was just really confusing for the most part and generally was just a bit waste of time. I honestly thought things were back to normal but I guess not. I mean if I was on a motorcycle would it of been much different for “covid protocol” No, LOL. It’s just funny to see how careless some of these rules are that are STILL in affect. I just thought I would share this dumb experience that should be fixed because the fact they still aren’t dining in is...
