Big E's Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Elizabeth Township

Our first visit to Big E's Bar and Grill. The owners did many nice upgrades to the seating areas. All very nice. Our waitress was very attentive and always just a moment away if we needed anything. All the employees were nice and welcoming! We ordered the cheese wheel appetizer. Large portion, bigger than most places have. Came with marinara. Good stuff! My wife ordered the steak salad. The steak was done just as she ordered and she enjoyed the vinaigrette dressing on the salad. You're not going to walk away hungry! I ordered the chicken parmesan. Comes with a cup of wedding soup that was good. Two big pieces of chicken covered in sauce and cheese, came next. Great portion size! We were told that the marinara sauce is the owners recipe. Great sauce, just right! I like to go with the logic that if a place has good chicken parm it has good choices on the rest of the menu also. With that in mind, Big E's Bar and Grill is sure to have plenty of other great things on the menu! Overall a very nice experience. Stopped in to try this restaurant for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Apparently a group of 15 adults and children had come in before us. We ordered breakfast… and waited… and waited… and waited some more. After at least 30 minutes we were informed that there was only one cook working and that our meals would be another 15 minutes at the least. We were also informed that - at 11am on a Sunday morning - they were already out of bagels, rye toast, and sausage gravy.

Having figured that an hour would have been sufficient to eat some scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast before driving to a baby shower in West Newton we just bagged the visit, paid for our coffee, and left. Service was always the weak link at this establishment going back to when it was Driscoll & Son’s Cafe. Can’t rate the food because we didn’t get any - even after waiting 45mins for some scrambled eggs. The waitress was apologetic and we have no complaints about her, but to be out of multiple items on a Sunday morning and not be able to serve even a half-full restaurant means that you can’t rely on...

Went there for the 1st time tonight. We ordered the fish sandwich and stuffed banana pepper pasta. When I say the sandwich was big, it was bigger than big - huge! Done perfectly. My husband can eat, and even he brought half of it home! My pasta was also absolutely delicious! I am always leery of ordering pasta with red sauce because 9.5 times out of 10, I'm so disappointed in how it tastes. I took one bite and was THRILLED. It was so good. The pasta, the peppers, all of it! Half came home with me, as well. So, delicious leftovers tomorrow! Win win! The Wedding soup was great, the warm bread - ahhhhh! Staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable! And I love the fact that they even have a menu for the puppers! (Dog friendly on the patio).
