Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Elizabethtown

I used to go to Long John silvers all the time until recently. I went through the drive through on my lunch break and ordered chicken. 2 planks and fries. Not difficult. I get my order, I go back to work (about 10 mins away) and I realize they had given me fish. And might I mention, I don’t eat sea food. So I drove ALL the way back to LJS and took my order in to the person at the counter. I assume she was the manager. I kindly explain to her that I ordered chicken and received fish. She proceeds to ask for my receipt...which I never got btw. I explain to her that I didn’t get a receipt and that I’d just like to have my order replaced, I didn’t want a refund. I hadn’t even touched what was in the box. She looks at me like I’m crazy, reaches for a box and puts two chicken tenders in it and says “here. I can’t take that from you so take these but next time, we’re gonna need to see a receipt” I was dumbfounded. What kind of a fast food place argues with a customer when they say they’ve received the wrong order? I mean, why was it such a big deal? Why would I LIE about what I ordered 🙄 I won’t go into detail about my behavior after she tried me with that attitude of hers but I will say that I haven’t been back to this location since and...

If Long John Silver's has one saving grace it has to be their employees. Because heaven knows it ain't their food. The employees were great: friendly, professional, quick service. Not a single complaint there. The food on the other hand...

Now don't get me wrong, I like fried fish and I expect a little grease to come with the territory. But the sheer amount of it on the food here is straight up horrifying. I'm pretty sure I could have dived in and gone for a swim in the stuff if I'd been of a mind to.

I only managed to finish maybe a third of my food, and I regret even eating that much. My arteries are already crying out to be avenged. If I wanted to have pure grease for dinner I'd line up some shot glasses and start knocking back cooking oil, which is what I should probably do if I'm ever tempted to eat here again. I doubt there's any real difference from a nutritional standpoint, and at least then I wouldn't have to suffer the further ordeal of tasting their food the entire time I'm chewing it.

I got the wrong food ordered and when I realized I can't go back through the drive thru with how the parking lot is set up I had to go inside once making it inside I was told keep the food that was wrong and that they would just give me the chicken I had ordered but it would be about 5 minutes so I went out to the car with my 2 children and was feeding them the French fries I came back in and the manager says I need to go get the food that I already had brought in once and the food another employee told me to keep and that they just gave their chicken away so long story short I had to wait a half hour at a fast food restaurant for 4 pieces of chicken fries and hush puppies.
